I really don't want to be responsible for the Open RvR design, so I will be listening to community feedback and propositions for what to do.
aza, this sounds a bit sour, but you dont need to be! Lets just test things out how they work, its an alpha after all and i think we will need lots of future iteration, as you its really hard to predict what people will actually do with certain changes.
im absolutly happy that we CAN change rvr in such a substantial way at all! never thought this could be possible without access to the client.
and anyone who takes you responsible or attacks you cause of changes for the better good is just a troll anyway!

if you wanna spread out the zerg i suggest also removing the lock-timer on BOs so there will be constant fights around them giving smaller groups something useful to do

agree with you, Actually, lock-timer on BOs are to long. I think with a zerg u can lock BOs of a map and take a keep without posibility for a group to take back the BOs

Changes regarding RvR mechanics can only be tested with big amounts of people. This is unfortunately only possible on the live server for obvious reasons.
Sometimes also stuff is working in the test environment, but not on the live server. This can always happen when a patch is rolled out.
It seems that people need to be reminded once every week, that this server is still in his alpha stage.
I know that at this point aza invested far more than "just" the majority of his free time into this project.
And all he is asking for, is to consider some balancing on
this and a little bit of
that.
But even that is to much as it seems...
TL;DR:
I blame penril too.

Hm, i don't understand. Two zones open would be pug vs premade then? Or premade vs premade?

I think these are going to be fantastic changes! Thanks very much Az!
Something to consider: Would it be possible to change the guard spawn rate in keeps once the fight gets to certain numbers? So say you have over 20 defenders in a keep the guards spawn time doubles or triples? Perhaps it could be even more complex and get the number of attackers and defenders and the system could scale, so if there are more defenders the guards spawn slower, and if there are more attackers the guards spawn quicker?
Also i second giving this at least a week to see what happens with it. Let it settle and see what trends develop before anything is changed again.

Two zones its just bigger chance for small scale battles. Not every one like two run for 4 hours from Mandred to Des wc. And now there will be no choice

So far the changes have been amazing. It puts everyone on the same map making ORVR a lot more fun. Before people tried to avoid fighting by running to the other maps.

Yet to check out how it works but this is definitely a change in the right direction.
Big tnx to Aza who has to code all this, i wish all you whiny **** would understand the effort he and the other devs put into this ALPHA project and hold your tongue once in a while.
