One problem @ forums is you really can't tell which advice is good and which not.
Best way to learn how to play your class is finding someone who is good at it and ask him in person.
for Choppa my fav on server would be Chopmaster, there is alot of other great choppaz too. Find someone who you see put out good results and ask for a build.
Bringing right spec to the fight is very important.

basic pug ranked SC strats:
speak with your team! arrange assist!
If they not hitting you be vicious!
If they start hitting on you, see if you have to detaunt and bail, surviving is more important than killing. if opponent has good DPS you will be in such situation sooner or later
dont grant free immunes with GTDC
watch your own immunes, be prepared to be CCd when u dont have em. low HP and knocked down suddenly might not end well for you
your tank must be watching you, but you watch after him too, he might be punted or not near for other reason, also use guards icons in your buffhead. run towards your tank if you need protection and tank was punted.
learn all the important icons in buffhead for you, teammates and enemies.(hardest part for new player) but important. setup buffhead well, to make it more clear from unnecessary icons.
practice practice practice
practice practice practice
practice practice practice
makes perfect, takes time...

And last: record your fights with OBS or any screencapture you like. watch your fights. good to have combat log captured as well. analyze your mistakes, pause and learn buffhead icons if you see that something is unusual and you dont understand something(taking alot damage, doing no damage, constant parry, absorb, tank m3,m4, healdebuffs etc) try to read it out. You will find your bads and goods while analyzing your game captures.

A 2h tank that is specced properly does not melt in seconds, 2h does not mean squishy. For 6v6, 2h is definitely preferable to snb, they offer more assist damage and generally better offensive utility, which is needed far more than having one tank that is unkillable until everything else is dead.
Well I saw some tanks even with shields on Ranked that were losing HP pretty fast, because of Guard damage and healers away / not healing them.
I agree that more DPS is more important than survival of one person, that's why I invest on Str and do as much damage I can. Need some time and regear to even try the 2H option.
Jabba wrote: Wed May 13, 2020 2:55 pm Raze should never be used. You should talk to your 2nd tank at the start, ideally one should use champ challenge, and 1 should use the armour debuff. Use together at the right time. Or have 1 tank use his morale offensively and one save Distracting bellow/immaculate defense as oh **** bittons.
I never use Raze. It's just better then self-shield. But the morale cooperation is great idea.
Jabba wrote: Wed May 13, 2020 2:55 pm Taunt is definitely important, as an interrupt more as a damage increase for the tank, learn what you should be interrupting, like resses, dok rend channels etc etc
And another good idea, didnt use the Taunt this way.

If you are a shield tank don't bother wasting gold on str talis. Don't try to make snb spec do any dmg and just stay as tough as you can. I've seen some pretty shitty snb bgs in high lvl gear still stacking str talis in every slot, even their shield.

But doesnt Str also determine the chance to succesfully do punts and KD?
