And that's why Mythic had no other choice to let folks stay in T3 39rr79 max because of decked out DF/WF + LoTD exploits + ...
I hope you truly enjoyed your big fun dude as I know that many many others on the other side of the coin did NOT.
i really enjoy it, yes i farm for it hard and that was like paradise killing tons of lowbie newbie noobs

Should have stayed i longer. Done some sc's... that is where most destro were. More players logged in. Order wiped on first attempt to siege. 12 to 18 destro players got tons of rr with aao. BY noon today, EU prime, there will be lots of destro running around and Order will have aao.

I really do not see your problems? I have to wonder what it is you are looking for?

Most respect to the developers but I agree with this OP sentiments even though everything is working very well (bug free, mostly), there is a need to continue trying to improve the situation where possible..

Before we used to see some patterns where players would form more into a 'campaign run' and getting on the momentum side was highly highly desirable because it would mean at least 2-6 hours (approx) of zone locks and wins (big RR gains) and loot that could only be gotten one way.
Now, I think we see much shorter duration pushes. A realm unites for a lock or two then quickly disperses again. Loot situation is basically non-issue now, so players I think are content to grind away slowly.

Although I also think a hard-cap limit is a bad idea in this kind of game, I think an attempt to limit x-realm in unbalance situations would be good. Disallow flagging for PvP in only some cases such as-
-previously tagged as opposite realm recently (10 min or so)
-wrong level tier

If you can't see an issue with faction population imbalance, which of course is fine to have that opinion, what do you think the cause of a 700,000 strong player base game only having 400 people in prime time across all tiers after its ressure resurrection?
Think we need a serious discussion with our marketing team

What I think the problem is, is not the topic.

Alright, I am kinda done with this Post here.
"Biggest problem on live is still the biggest problem on RoR" Yes indeed, constant whining!
The guy that initiated it has more then 3 pages of posts about Realm issues that are not relevan and only his problem.
If you are frustrated, get laid or take your dog for a walk, dude. But stop opening the floodgates of whine!

AAO is a good thing. There is nothing to add, nothing to change. Outnumbered? Grow a pair, will ya?

What the OP is saying has some merit in that there is indeed an issue. Your post isn't particularly objective, doesn't bring any real arguments to the table, and what's more, you come from a playstyle of leading pug warbands exclusively... on destro, which routinely outnumbers order 2 to 1 or close to it.
________________________________________________

He is saying something right in that the more one side is dominant, the more dominant it becomes as the chances of victory for the opposing faction decrease. The more hopeless situations where you are incapable of influencing the outcome happen, the less motivated people are to play the game, or the more motivated they are to simply go on the winning side and stay there.

From my experience, order side usually just has 6 man teams and maybe 1 warband at best, but saying that this will all be fixed by limiting the amount of players you can enter a zone with is, in my opinion, incorrect. The problem is a multilayered one:

1) Order has only one viable warband dps class - bright wizard. This means that if you're not a fan of that playstyle, you get shafted or just go roam or do smallscale rvr. And that's exactly what you see on order. Usually like 3-4 6 man teams roaming about, easily consumed by a zerg.

2) A pretty long time of having opressive, annoying or unfun classes to deal with from destro side. Choppa, Melee squig, it's an old story at this point. With Choppa being nerfed, it's become a lot more fun to play in rvr now, at least. Don't get me wrong, it's not that these classes were OP, it simply comes down to the fact that being pounced on, debuffed, aoe superpunted, KDd and then almost incapable of killing the flying tank meatballs is simply annoying. Or having your whole team pulled from almost mara-level distances. It plays a factor in realm population as well, and right after GtdC was nerfed, the order situation became a bit better for a time.

3) Because of the two above factors, order players aren't incentivized to play mass rvr and end up either losing enthusiasm for the game or simply switching to destro. There they pick up a class, any class, and it's viable for rvr. A much more smooth experience. The realm inbalance only escalates, population further declines.

4) The longer the problem goes on, the more deep-seated it becomes in player mentality. Even if all three of the above issues are fixed, and if some others that perhaps I didn't have the foresight to list here are also fixed, it may not even equate to the situation straightening out. People may have gotten used to playing the other faction, and it'll still be a while before order realizes they can actually do something in largescale pvp and have fun while doing it. Could be a whole year before things go back to normality, before everything. Or they might not recover at all. Special incentives and artificial methods may have to be utilized in order to get people to play the opposing faction, because obviously AoO isn't enough of a motivating factor. Something like a special bonus for xrealming on the least populated side and playing orvr might be what is required.

Is it truly because there's no other DPS choice or is it because BW rules them all?

It is because BW is on steroids... other classes are insignificant in comparison... BW = number 1 dps class of both realms. Only some people on order are taking full advantage of their number 1 dps class... but the majority do not... and that is the players fault and i know its hard to get so many BW under same banner but it is how it is, also BW has some counter play but it's still their best choice.

Other order dps characters damage or utility is doesn't measure up to BW... that is why people have been asking for slight buffs to other order dps classes for awhile... because classes like white lion for example are useless and a hinderance in large scale atm... its always about using manpower effectively, order largely waste theirs on mass. Destro is more flexible so less wasted.

Engi as some utility, but is stationary and takes too long before decent damage... Slayer has ok utility but damage cant compete with BW... SW is SW lal.

All this whine about problems it comes down to players... if you feel order is insignificant compared to destro... what if you hypothetically moved TUP & NRM to order from destro... would you still say order is insignificant and imbalanced? it would be shoe on other foot imo... the problem is people not organising themselves. It doesn't help that order's choices are limited so their pugs are more cannon fodder if they come up against something semi effective. But Destro pug's also was cannon fodder for long time and still can do bad things more often than not but some of them evolved into semi organised forces so their threat level and decision making is higher level... which makes another problem for order to overcome.

One other big difference i remember is... Order are less committed to fights, i.e they have a tendancy to break/route/run away on impact early on... where Destro is very sucidial at times... destro black orks and others will go for glory and fight to the death... i remember being very WTF playing order and seeing people run away from winnable fights in praag, then only happy to zerg later on, you couldn't make it up :)

AAO = guarenteed action... when you kill everything and have to pve/call raid 50% earlier than expected that is not desired... so i don't get these complaints, i just think its lazy. guerrilla warfare is what AAO is all about, you should be happy for it... you gain better rewards, if you are not killing things then readjust your tactics or setup to suit what you have and dont be affraid to just try things and go for it.
