Are you serious? What bolster? You are lvl 39, do the math for 1 rank bolster in SC.
Dmg and kills depend on opportunities. WC camping favors rdps. Bad timing or placement leads to worse results.
He hardly did bad because of gear alone. He was just worse than you.
Guess what happens, when there is no xpoff. Lower tiers become ghosttowns and starting a new char becomes an aweful experience. Don't get me wrong, we need no LotD but stop blaming gear, when you should blame players.
Some classes are just great in killing newbies, while it is easy to counter them in a group environment.
IMO they both (gear/skill) hold there own, but I played a lot of wh (I am what you would consider a old school player of wh) and gear seemed to outweigh skills a lot more often. I am personally against xpoff or twinks. And it won't be needed if we get original war when rr80 was max. It would be cool tho if they could implemented some kind of debolster if you go back to the lower tiers once your lv 40, but they would have to figure out how to make it balanced. I know, wishful thinking. =p

WAR had this already (Return to Ekrund).
Yes, but it was done bad. Armor set bonus and proccs were working, same with potions and renown skills.
Dying is no option.

5) Collision detection.

Without point 5 any kind of keep defense is senseless.

Absolutely and Talismans. Being able to spec really brings another layer to war. Some spec just dont work without renown points and talismans.

I hope You got it working on other server than we playing. Class mechanics are far from 100% working. Especialy pet classes and pet pathing is far from working correctly.

pet / npc pathing will not work for a very long time im affrait since the server controls the pet movement it wound need a 3d map of the game to do pathing right

not gonna happen anytime soon maybe even never :-S

Does it mean, that pet classes will never work correctly? Even as good as on live servers( whre they were also buggy as hell?)

Because that is big shock for me. It means we can never make the game running...

The pets will have used the same navmesh as the npcs. No navmesh no pathing.
I dont know what server side depends on a mesh of the game world, auto attack or aoe splash, some stuff will be very hard to get working. Some game mechanics might need to be altered or removed.

I can't see how AoEs can be implemented correctly without the ability to perform traces serverside for visibility.
