I get what you're saying, and for a lot of people it can be frustrating doing a type of PvP they don't like just to feel competitive in RvR, but the same can also be said for people having to take empty keeps and find people to kill in the lakes to get anni gear - just to be competitive in their preferred outlet for PvP.
No offense but honestly I find it ridiculous that some people "need" Anni/Merc to feel competitive. You don't need anni to be competitive, just like you don't need merc; depending on your class, Ruin + Epic weapon + Lairs are more than enough to be competitive, specially if you are in a premade. And you can get these in a few days.

Anyone saying he "needs" a certain set or he can't be competitive is imho just looking for excuses as to why he always loses. Gear gap between Ruin/Anni/Merc is NOWHERE nearly as big as, say, Anni and Doomflayer on live.

OT: I'm all for a pug-only SC, but make it Khaine's Embrace or Logrin's Forge, where pugs actually have to fight. Reikland Factory? I can totally picture pugs running around capping flags and avoiding confrontation. And imho, even pugs need to fight for their rewards. Speaking of rewards, they should be as good as in a Premade vs. Premade SC.

Oh, and OP: It was more like a 250+ renown point nerf, not 200. J/s :P

oh no don't get me wrong, i agree. just saying that both sets (anni/merc) are bis for different specs/classes, and some players may not like the way in which they have to get them (rvr/sc). you can definitely be competitive with greens/ruin/lair stuff, but my point was more a response to people feeling they have to grind scenarios for merc as the same is true of RvR and anni.

in retrospect you're right: maybe reikland isn't the best scenario. khaine's would be good as it forces people to engage in pvp AND do the objective.

Wouldnt Ishas or Caledor Woods then be even better SC for a pug sc?

Rift implements solo and party queues, disabling the solo queue buttons if you are in a party. It works well. (I dont play Rift anymore of course, now that RoR is here).

Also need to take into account that Rift has several tens of thousands of people playing, so neither party is inconvenienced.

Asherdoom wrote:ther is a solution: pugs start to use brain and they will maybe realize chat is done for call inc and tactic instead of spamming in advice and MAYBE theyll toss out a nice game vs premades.
That will never happen cause certain amount of pugs are not at that skill level and un teachable !
Nice game against pre's don't mean anything ,pugs still going to loose ......so your solution is a brainless one !
It is also brainless to pander to, or make changes for, people who flat-out refuse to learn the basics of fighting within a group as per their chosen archetype, e.g. DPS assisting, tanks guarding and using challenge/punts, etc.

Give pugs a scenario (Reikland Factory for reasons mentioned already by Jacub) that premades can't join, make it drop less emblems, and sorted. Don't think anyone would be against that.
Is it brainless that Warhammer designed a game to be played that gives classes options of going contrary to their chosen archetype such as : Glass cannon DPS tank , or a melee DOK/WP and Healer DPS ?
Why did the game develop this option for classes if they were not expected to be played this way?
Its the premades that forces everyone to play gody ,but I would enjoy to see the day when players can spec however they desire too and still be effective without teammates wanting to rage on them for it!

Peter, I am sure you are missreading him...it is hardcore/premade not hardcore-premade.
He is himself not part of your elite circle of hardcore players, so he may be a bit unfamiliar with the terms.
And actually: if your hardcore, neighboorhood firendly premade is facing a pug...do you leave the sc or let them win? I dont think so
And for the pug players it probably looks the same if you enjoy it or not

I enjoy the challenge of pug vs premade, often when good pugger's are in same scenario they can easily defeat a premade.
