In my opinion, you will reward the wrong people.
I've been thinking the same thing here. At the same time, if somebody reports a game-breaking exploit, you can also check if they've used the exploit for their own gain. Not only will we then have the solution to the problem, but we can also punish those who have used the exploit to their advantage, and in return ban them rather than giving them the mount.

It reminds me of a Runescape dupe, that allowed people who duplicate the most valuable items in the game. Since the value of these items dropped due to excessive supply, the Runescape devs promised a 100 million gold coins to whoever could tell them how the dupe worked. Instead of giving them the 100 million gold on top of these rare items upon reporting how the exploit worked, they were permabanned instead, and the dupe was fixed in due time.

If we can't make people report a game-breaking exploit out of the kindness of their own heart and their actual responsibility of fixing this game rather than ruining it, we have to reward those who are actually doing what is right, rather than having them continue on doing what's wrong and expecting even more benefits from it after reaping what they've sown. Perhaps it'll incenticise people to report a bug before being stupid enough to exploit it for their own gain.

There is no excuse for exploiting in any game, be it free-to-play, in development, or long dead. You will suffer for the consequences of your selfishness, and be rewarded for your selflessness.

People who reported an exploit should have an immunity even if they abused it imo. What about people who abused exploits and want to report it but instead they are thinking "why should I report it if they will just ban me in return"?

At least you guys are honest about banning them though, that Runescape example is an example of deception of which game developers should be ashamed. Things like that creates mistrust between game developers and the community.

Bans are only necessary upon repeated offences/severe misconduct. If you replicated an exploit for the sake of understanding it to explain it to a developer later, you're mostly at risk of having the exploited items removed from your account, nothing else. If, without a doubt, you have used a bug for your own gain, E.G. by sending falsely generated gold/items across the economy/to alt character, you will be punished more severely, since it proves intended selfishness that damages the server for no good reason other than self-gain, which is forbidden, and by which you have no place in a play-testing environment.

People who exploit deliberately usually have nothing to lose, and only exploit for the sole intention of being able to do so. These sorts of people wouldn't report a bug even if we crowned them king of the server in return.

The manticore was given for the Buy Back exploit report in this changelog.

Could we have a civilized talk about those mounts being more than just vanity with 10% more speed than regular pleb mounts?
I'm all for giving people who commit to making this server a better place fancy eye-candy, but giving them an edge gameplay wise is not a good step to take. It's not the end of the world but to say it with a proverb: Resist the beginnings.
