Re: Rift and Magnet
You come to this thread with nothing to contribute but to say I don't know how to mask dots because I mentioned WP's can cleanse without even trying by simply slotting a tactic and spamming purify every 5s? and not only that, but you bring in a sorc's WoP into the conversation? How blatantly dumb can you get?Gobtar wrote:Yet after all this time, you didn't know you could mask dots, interesting...Try harder at being relevant or better yet stop derailing threads.Renork wrote:

It sounds like the only one being irrelevant and derailing this thread is you. Stop posting.

This here is the kind of comment that irks me, and offers nothing to the thread.Mez wrote:Speccing magus or engineern rift IS what makes them gimp. Otherwise they are fine in decent hands. Stop listening to the bad players you carry that complain about being useless. It's definitely not the class.
Speccing rift is what makes taking a Magus to ANY group of ANY kind worthwhile. Speccing ANYTHING else will contribute nothing to the team, as EVERY other RDPS can do the burst/dmg roles much better.
"They are fine in decent hands"
If by "fine" you mean 'can perform okay, but still you would be doing a better job playing any other class and you must put in 2x as much effort to gauge the results of an average sorc/sh' - then okay.
I knew you could mask dots, but that means nothing. Are you seriously suggesting that the Magi's job is to mask the dots of other classes? If that is the case, what is the point of the Magus at all, or even giving these dots damage?

Re: Rift and Magnet
Well obviously our role is to mask dots and you need to stop derailing this thread nowpeterthepan3 wrote:This here is the kind of comment that irks me, and offers nothing to the thread.Mez wrote:Speccing magus or engineern rift IS what makes them gimp. Edit: Also, notice how those that say "the class is good in certain hands" never touch the class? How clever.

Biggest problem is the burst a sorc dots you and in 5 seconds a spikes coming so you have to act now to avoid death.
A magus starts dotting you and you have time to consider what to do about it.

Renork, it's hard to take seriously the well-known forum troll. Just saying.
The guy a few posts above is right: there are usually many dots and debuffs on enemy that can efficiently cover magus dots. Also note that most magus dots have either low cd or none at all.
The main aoe dot pandemonium for example has 0 cd so even when it gets cleansed you just instantly recast it.

Um pandemonium has a 5s CD. LOL, and I'm a troll?
Let me help educate you.
GM and BT are the only two dots that have no cooldown.
IF has a 10s CD
Pand has a 5s CD
WH has a 20s CD and is useless without the 15% tactic.
