Like Obliterator gear? Or Rune-scribbed gear? What about Murderer's gear? Or is this only for green level items? I'm not so quick to jump on this because there can be some ramifications for doing this. If it is done, I hope it's only one set piece with some useful gear. Hopefully it doesn't replace obliterator gear if it ever comes out that is. ;)
PvE gear I would imagine, I can't remember on live but did PQ's have their own separate loot tables? Or did they just drop what we are seeing now?

I was thinking the same thing. This is one of the perfect idea that will work in this game and it will encourage players to "farm" ORvR to get medallions.

Just to be frank, PVE/PQ have tons of bugs and it is a really huge project to get them all fix for ROR. RVR is the core game of WAR/ROR and all coders should focus on RVR unless you guys willing to spare a few coders for PVE which it just fine by me.

I agree that the woe, rune and murder gear should be put on a wc vendor and then people can get what ever they want with war crests but I only feel such steps are necessary till full rvr sets in the game. Green gear like butchers isn't need to be added to vendors cause you can still get it from ch 8 mobs

I doubt that this will negatively impact rvr sets because the set bonus make them too appealing not to use, like in t1 many still used deci even with bloody gear around for the +14 bonus

I think if this is done I will help fix the gear imbalance from those who got a lot of blue and purp items from pve before changes

That it! there is no grey area of what WAR is. It is RvR. When someone made a post about asking to not letting PVE die is very insulting to the ideal of Mythic Team who work so hard to bring this amazing RvR game for everyone. One of the issue with Mythic that they need to listen to other crowd as in PVE crowd. They the one who enjoy the game but want to add more PVE content to grinding. And the unfortunate content is Land of the Dead. I imagine it is EA pressured the team to push this.

I prefer to keep PVE content minimal as it is and encourage players to join ORvR and SC to have fun instead of hiding somewhere to grind some gear
But that is not what RvR is, is it now? RvR, last I checked, is a full integration of PvE, PvP and crafting into one cohesive whole. Like DAoC. Like EvE. Hm?

Also, some fact checking should be in order I think. WAR hadn't been planned with RvR originally. Originally it was supposed to be PvE + Scenarios and RvR got added afterwards. Like it isn't visible. Instead of full integration RvR, we got some forced lakes. Instead of full integration, we got what amounted to mass PvP while a true RvR is much, much more. Which is plenty visible that it got shoehorned in.

So...before you say anything, do check your facts, hm?

Plus, I am yet to see a non PvE mmorpg halfway succeed(let alone full success). Mythic was originally wise enough to realise this, but as they got into trouble with money, being bought out by EA etc...they tried to salvage their game by shoehorning the whole SYSTEM in. And yes, RvR is not a "mode" or a "way" of playing. It's a full SYSTEM-you can't halfass that. Indeed, you need to build your game around it or bust.

People can cheat just as easily in PvP. Many people I see only join in Scenarios to sit at the starting point for the whole time. Whenever an item drops, everybody can "need" it regardless of where they are or what they do. And the game allows a lot of time to pick "need", so anyone can do that. Even those that are not in at the computer at the time of the drop.

Technically I could watch a movie, only checking on my character in SCs every 3 or 5 minutes and still have just as much chance of getting loot than those working for it.

You will get banned for afking in scs.

As far as AFKing w/ auto loot on in a warband while you AFK in WC... yes a lot of people do that, and that's why I like to reform the WB every ~30 minutes to stop people from leeching.

And how about improving this mind-numbingly stupid AI? Surely one could make a few improvements such as range-dps mob kiting, calling other mobs to help and using skill rotations dependant on target's HP.
Or is the AI entirely coded on the client?
PvE is probably never going to be as challenging as PvP, but it does not have to be abysmally repetitive and predictable.
And yes, I understand this would be much lower on the priority totem pole than getting the PQ to just move from stage one to stage two... but one can always dream right?

we won't have Warhammer PvE and if we want to play a Warhammer Fantasy RPG...we are supposed to do what? Well, my dear devs:

You can't circumvent that. And PvE IS A CORE ELEMENT of RvR, WAKE UP!!! Just because WAR fell apart and ultra simplified RvR down to a mass PvP, doesn't make it that. Use your brain!

LOL. The devs are FAR from lazy. They're simply working on this project voluntarily. For NO money and NO recognition, they code what they can when they have spare time. Please do not insult the devs by calling them 'lazy' when you're playing this alpha server for free, kthx.

Indeed. I need to learn to focus and to be pinpoint instead of blatantly insulting innocent people. It's just that...that I'm so passionate about stuff I care about and it comes out like that. Ah well.
