No denying people **** talk, but there was the occasional fun in seeing rocks all waaaaaaghing or Bitterstones DWARFS OF EKRUNDing. I know I would occaaionally send out or receive a "good fight" or "good duel" especially when soloing on my IB.
Devs will do as they do, but I will miss cross faction talk.

Aye, will miss yelling warcries in Khazalid and my patented "Come on you beardless bastards, fight!"GodlessCrom wrote:No denying people **** talk, but there was the occasional fun in seeing rocks all waaaaaaghing or Bitterstones DWARFS OF EKRUNDing. I fear the entirety of the RP community strongly disagrees with that statement.Natherul wrote:A decision was made to stop cross talk since there is no real point in it at all and it was used more often then not by taunting or rage:ing at an opponent.
Nobody enjoys being the target of a player that can't contain himself, but, I, personally, would much rather be the daily victim of a salt avalanche and have crossrealm RP intact. Rarely have I felt the need to post on forums, as can be seen by my number of posts, but this is the first RoR developer decision that hits particularly close to home.

It's a pvp game, surely this server is not that care bear where people can't deal with /say taunting, I mean what is the point of the ignore function?Natherul wrote:A decision was made to stop cross talk since there is no real point in it at all and it was used more often then not by taunting or rage:ing at an opponent.
Also receiving hate tells are hilarious, especially when people are bad.
If they really annoying you, just kill them, over and over, like zaxxond or lucca who spam crap like "zaxxed".

Re: Patch Notes 6/1/2018
I'm not surprised you don't understand the amount of work that the GM team is tasked with filtering through the loads of crap people spit at each other on a daily basis. Most of that work doesn't show up as reports or bans, just GM's processing things to determine if it's worth taking action on. Considering the vast majority of xrealm chat is used for vile trash, you're not really hitting off on a good reason to keep it.Gerv wrote:It's a pvp game, surely this server is not that care bear where people can't deal with /say taunting, I mean what is the point of the ignore function?Natherul wrote:A decision was made to stop cross talk since there is no real point in it at all and it was used more often then not by taunting or rage:ing at an opponent.

Re: Patch Notes 6/1/2018
roleplay
organising quick scrims and duels
banter and trash talk (believe it or not, a big part of pvp)
if you are easily offended then there is an ignore function just dying to be used. a lot of players (I would wager most) actually don't mind a bit of cross faction **** talk and lols (particularly when facilitated by alcohol - droll always gets me in stitches)
For those of you who insist on taking everything.so.damn.personally, see aforementioned point on the ignore function.
having said that, it wasn't allowed on live so, if nothing else, there's that. also no real need to trash talk anymore when there's no competitive scene, but I genuinely do sympathise with the roleplayers in this instance.

Re: Patch Notes 6/1/2018
If the trash is a problem can we remove the tells and keep the say cross chat?
Re: Patch Notes 6/1/2018
The Roleplayers like it a lot now to not be called on a daily base: fags, virgins, mongoloids, autists, gays.
Be it in /say or /tell.
If you hear this stuff on a daily base you simply loose the fun in playing on the server.
Thanks a lot devs.

- No more cross realm talk, staff is excluded from this.
Very very sad to see this.

Honestly, in my own personal experience, there are far worse things in same-faction chat than in cross-realm one. For example, when losing a scenario and your only 2 healers are DPS. Cross-realm chat seems to be quite friendly for the most part.
