You want more mobility but didn't pick up ID? That's a bit contradictory man. ID is a huge instant cast nuke.

Can't pick up ID without losing HoR... so I rather keep HoR then.

why?
you would be more "immobile" when casting hor than ID

In T4 there's no reason not to take swell of gloom. It's free damage when sniping. i.e. you are killing people on/from a wall, or zerg surfing in the lake. It's great for 1v1 and small roam, because TTK is your only concern because backlash puts a finite amount of spells you can cast before your chugging potions and trying to get creative. You have no healdebuff so glass cannon is the only way to go and sorc's swell of gloom is a 4th pure damage tactic that Bright Wizards have zero access to. It's one of the reasons some people like to say sorc is better dps than BW (included with a more streamlined spirit dmg rotation over bw's mixed damage types).
Admittedly I usually removed swell of gloom in Tier 4 scenarios for AP or chilling gusts. I also preferred chilling gusts when hunting witch hunters in Praag.
On HOR over ID, I'm finding myself casting HoR as an insta constantly. It's as mobile as ID, with added usage.
I'm not sure how to spec at this new level cap. It looks messy to me. I would probably agree HoR is better than ID. The reason is 3-4 ticks of HoR can give you refreshes on word of pain, arctic blast and gloomburst if they are down. If those are down, you only get 1 rotation of ID, but if you need to finish a guy off you can let HoR tick a few extra times while your team assists the last few hit points.
I dunno, I just see me happier with it. Not to mention, I pug constantly and being able to channel HoR when I'm low health is a great way to wait for a heal and risk no backlash. It'll suck not taking ID because it's yummy. But it'll be there in T4.
Why do none of you guys take gloom of night? it hits hard and procs frozen touch. It lasts 15 seconds. If you want to increase your burst, try throwing it on your target first. Free splash, more burst. I like it on lion pets for some reason. Also it chews up challenge off you. What's not to like for 1 point.

Not a big fan of Gloom of Night cause it might break my detaunt and it's easy to pull guards.
This is what I'm running
http://waronlinebuilder.org/#career=sor ... 405:5406:0:
Spec'd Impending Doom has ~560 tooltip dmg, and Hand of Ruin in this spec has ~540, so no big deal. It's also more AP efficient, and I had benefits from 2nd tick too.

The main reason to take SoD tactic for me, well, there is nothing else to take in 4th slot instead, all others useful tactics are too situational.
pure damage tactic that Bright Wizards have zero access to.
What means "pure damage"? BW has access to Burn Through, I would prefer Burn Throuhg in 100% of times to any kind of noncrit "pure damage"
I also preferred chilling gusts when hunting witch hunters in Praag.
Playing a Wh I always fell in panic of chilling gusts

HoR and ID are better then resdebuff, as for me, at least there was time when sorc has no ressdebuff at all, how did they play?
Why do none of you guys take gloom of night?
- 3 sec cast? For aoe dot? playing a direct damage spec, assisting and oneshoting people in 5 secs rotaition? No thanks.

The hell, Burn Through? Considering Fireball isn't in the basic rotation, that is a trash tactic. Can't believe you said you'd prefer that over free attack in your burst. Also, you need to take Shadow of Disaster. The resist debuff gives you like 15%-18% more damage. It's better than the intelligence tactic and often I use it instead. The only reason not to have Shadow of Disaster is if you are assisting a chosen in a premade, or running 2 sorcs in a premade and the other guy will run it.
Gloom of Night is 2 second cast, the same as arctic blast. It's barely longer than 1 global cooldown and completely easy to cast. If your argument is your killing people so fast you don't have time to cast it, you are just talking about farming pugs. I never ever discuss or care about specs/gear with regards to just farming. Everything should be focused on winning tough situations.
Using Gloom of Night with some icy spikes (+chilling gusts) is going to add good splash damage and help disguise your true burst focus versus your enemy healers trying to manage their squared, which is one of the best guises for actually getting something down and dead in my experience as sorc. It's much easier to get a guy from 100 to 0 if most of the healgrid is reporting people at 80-90% health the whole time. If my main assist calls out a rune priest next, I've seen benefit in tossing a gloom of night out next to the rune priest (like a WP next to the runie) and chillwinding him, so they start self healing or waste a global detaunting me, while I've already switched and started dotting the runie up. Winning vs premades can sometimes be a smoke and mirror game as a sorc because we have so little utility to do our job. I guess we all have our own playstyles and experiences. Agree to disagree.

This. No one of my worst enemies would ever stay and wait till I give him all my recasts dots and debuffs, no doubt sorc can inflict more damage per sec applying GoN and SoD all other nasty things, but I've used to play faster, with minimum amount of dots, or using only the most effective of them. I must be sudden, another way, I'll be cleanced, defended against by htl or chm or nonshellpass, or detaunt, or I'll see misdirection m1 in my focus after WoP cast. So for me, Burn Through is an absolutely necessary tactic for bought classes, hell, I'd agree to play without tactics at all, if I only have Burnthrough on my sorc. And there is no place for GoN in my world, since it was nerfed, and no place for noncrit puredamage either, and no hope on frozen touch procs as well
On another hand, Doombolt has corporeal damage, you can group BO with debuff, put some additional points in Agony and viola, 4-5k damage crits would be possible on t4, it's almost like festerbombing with no CD. And yes, in such a case I prefer my doombolts to be undefendable, to all other tactics, furthermore, if I only have RKD, so my prey cannot defend himself, mmmm, dreams.
But it seems, you prefer engi-style, GoN, low noncrit damage, procs, healers overcharge, debuffs, have a luck

Is it possible to solo kill WL? They pretty much one shot me and now they also have silence.
