I've been playing via Lutris for months with no issues whatsoever on the latest version of Pop OS.

However, since I updated all the packages this morning - which seemed to include an updated NVDIA driver - the game is only visible in the top left hand side of the window, and is very small (please see screenshot)

Does anyone have any idea what could be the issue?

I've tried CachyOS last week because it is so being hyped to be the fastest and most responsive linux.

So, I followed this guide to install RoR with your installer: install-linux

It finished successfully, created the config in lutris but did not start. After checking I figured that the installation directory /drive_c/Program Files (x86)/Return of Reckoning/ was empty. Only the dxvk.conf file was there.

After copying the files from my main linux distro it was working.

The installer doesn't seem to work on CachyOS/Arch linux.

btw: CachyOS wasn't any faster than my debian + liquorix with latest kernel. Id say id had more micro lags.

hmm, I don't really have an idea what that could be. Try starting Lutris with -d from the console to get debug output. Then launch the game and copy paste the output into e.g. chatgpt for analysis. Maybe it can find something.

Are your other games working? Are you on X11 or Wayland? Start using an AI for the problem solving. It is really helpful.

Pop OS using COSMIC desktop right? that's the problem most likely. Afaik its kinda new Desktop Environment and has loads of window-manager bugs when it comes to gaming

what if you try alt+f11 or alt+enter on that little window to force windowed and back to fullscreen?

you should report that issue to the COSMIC bugtracker or similar

edit: I have nvidia 595.58.03 drivers but with MATE desktop x11 and haven't seen any issues

It worked absolutely perfectly for months. I managed to fix it by forcing a virtual desktop in Lutris, although installing gamescope seems a better solution - am looking into that now.

HELP!

Had such an issue with the game not loading the client window with proper sizing/scaling on POPOS that I went back to Cinnamon Mint (which I have used for years and been happy with) and now I cannot get Lutris to fully install the game. Lutris runs through it's stuff, but I never get to the game's actual install and end up without an exe file in my RoR folder (along with a lot of other stuff that I would expect to be there).

Can anyone offer suggestions? It is as if Lutris simply doesn't open the RoR installer after doing all of the Lutris stuff.

Note, I am fairly illiterate, please keep it simple.

Like the RoRinstaller window doesnt even show up?
then its most likely some sort of broken lutris installation. if you start lutris from terminal with "lutris -d" and try to install, it should hopefully print some useful information what might go wrong

Had some issues on Pop OS, but forced Lutris to launch it in a virtual desktop and have had zero issues since.

Yeah, I lack the skill set to virtual desktop. No lies, folks, I am ignorant enough to be dangerous.

Just do the following:
1) Launch Lutris
2) Right click on Warhammer, and click "configure"
3) In the "Runner Options" tab, scroll down till you see "Virtual Desktop"
4) Enable it, and set your resolution
5) Save, and launch RoR
