Cheers for the recommendations!
I like to stay towards the tanky side myself. I like to stick to the position of stereotypical "tank", but having enough damage to still be a moderate threat is part of that.
I think i'll continue to pick up conqueror's. I've respecced into max. might for now. That's brought me up to just under 400 strength. Might have to invest in the damage accessories. Currently using Winds Impervious. Higher DPS weapon should help. Not far off the final reward for both Greenskins and Elves ORvR influence.
I'm happy enough doing anywhere between 50 and 75% of the damage of the top damage dealers in scenarios. I don't mind not being near the top. Currently I float around 50% if the DPS are bad (can be more if they are REALLY bad or I just get flat-out ignored). Really good DPS will do 4 times more than me currently, though. Makes me feel nonexistent.

Ignore the SC numbers, they mean less than nothing.
BOs have the abilities to screw with enemy players very easily(AoE punt, AoE snare, CD increaser, ranged interrupt, stackable damage decreasers) as well as benefit your team(stat steal, WS buff, ability to provide Unstoppable Buff(no CC), HTL, etc). None of these are reliant upon damage to be extremely helpful towards your team or detrimental to your enemy.
I found for BOs, you chose between DPS and survivability. Find the balance that you need for the group you are playing with. If you guys need more DPS to get kills, then adjust accordingly. I highly suggest keeping 2 sets of gear(at least) 1 defensive, 1 DPS then just swap as you need. You can REALLY screw with people, if you use the same appearance/dye for everything, you'll go from hitting for top DPS and being focus'd, swap gear/tactics, and they will keep trying to focus you, but now you are super tank and it's all wasted GCDs.

Re: [Black Orc] Talk bout da builds ere.
Just rolled a BO myself, got up to 16. Ill be rolling in a group and like to lean a little bit more DPS rather than full blown tank. As someone who would be interested in small scale pvp and roaming with my group, what recommendations would you guys have for renown points? Also I guess I can focus my talismans on strength stuff? I dont have the experience in this game that I could test things out so just gonna rely on the boards for info. Thanks all!

Re: [Black Orc] Talk bout da builds ere.
My latest post pretty much summed up a cookie-cutter role that BOs have in premade parties. Go full offensive gear with str talis. The specs I posted as well. Work your way up to mercenary gear, then dominator/beastlord (once it's back in the game). For weapons you are fine with scenario ones, but influence rewards are great as well, namely the ones from greenskin RvR. That's pretty much it. Practice your rotations and learn when to use your punt/challenge/kd etc.Drunkstains wrote:Just rolled a BO myself, got up to 16. Re: [Black Orc] Talk bout da builds ere.
I've been blessed with the luxury of running with premade groups for oRvR lately.
It's interesting that da boss tree actually becomes a whole lot more attractive with a premade group in large-scale ORvR, despite it's problems. WAAAGH looks really really nice for making sorcs stronger, and generally doing solid AoE damage in the huge fights... along with increased damage on big swing (which I am always spamming in the large fights).
On the other hand, especially with maps like praag, we do a lot of choke-point blocking, both aggressively and defensively. CHM looks nice for those situations... and I was considering running tuff/brawler to use CHM and da biggest combo, possibly also with loudmouth. I can imagine there being some CRAZY stat steal going on with warbands laying into CHM. Does da biggest even have an internal cooldown on it?

Re: [Black Orc] Talk bout da builds ere.
Both da biggest and loudmouth don't have an icd. Personally, I'm not a big fan of CHM in roaming. Sure it can help with defensive capabilities while doing damage, but it's just too situational. I think waaagh is better cuz of corp debuff and corp damage, if you spec more offensively you can crit for some big numbers on squishies, and as you said the synergy with sorcs is good. If you're in a wb, CHM could be nice, but not for small parties, as it really doesn't bring much benefit to the group.

What are the best talis to put into a full deftard set?
Zoggof - Black Orc
Doinks - Ironbreaker
Leatherman - Blackguard

Initiative. BOs get very little ini from gear. Stacking toughness or wounds won't help if you have a base 15% chance to be crit.

Re: [Black Orc] Talk bout da builds ere.
Get like 200 or 250 initiative either through gear or renown. I get it through renown. After that up to you on how you want to build. Wounds is solid. I put on armor tali's for my deftard tank build. I personally think armor is best for defttard tank. I've played around with sets having resists tali slotted and swap gear depending on who I'm facing. Armor tali setup won't help against say a BW group so...

Re: [Black Orc] Talk bout da builds ere.
Yes, armour is very good, then ini and toughness. Also, what footpatrol said, resist talis can also help a lot, especially ele resist. You will be fine if you put one 85 ele res tali to bring it to or closer to soft cap. As for wounds, it's really easy for BO to get high wounds, simply use the tactic and boom, easy 10k wounds. Ini I get from rr and one or two talis, and again as it's been said, get it over 220 + futile strikes and you should be ok. But one or two talis won't hurt.
