New Launcher Issues

Any fix if the launcher won't start at all? It tries to open up (show's in the taskbar) but then closes again. I have the .Net 3.5 framwork.

Can it be Windows Defender shutting it down without letting me know?

The only way to get it immediately approved by antivirus programs is to get an Extended Validation code signing certificate. We did however purchase a standard code signing certificate. Which means the programs released will not get an immediate whitelist on AV programs but will do as more people use them.

I am not sure what you mean by bad programmed applications.

I don't know, if the launcher is the problem.
The launcher start downloading and patching without an interaktion from the AV. Then after a few files the launcher tries to download another file. After this download is complete the launcher get the shutdown from the AV.

I am not sure what you mean by bad programmed applications.

i mean nothing, because i have no programming skills. this was the answer from the admin of my company, when i asked him to put the launcher to a whitelist.

Just my 2 cent for this, because I worked for the past 11 years as an admin with experience in threat protection, too:
The mechanics that today "learn" about new code of e.g. executable files actually consist of sandboxes, which are closed virtual environments where the actual code is simply executed to anaylze what it does. So if an application tries to e.g. read your system (files, registry, whatever) it in the first step will be considered suspicious and can be blocked or warned by an engine that is programmed to do so.

In daily business that won't occur in most cases because there already have been thousands of download of the same file(s) across the internet in a few time, which will just take much more time with a niche application like our launcher, or the vendor of the application payed for it to be checked before like having a certificate or else.

It's not the code in this case that is considered malicious, if that would be the case 90%+ of the malware scanners would just block or delete it. I am running enterprise security at home myself and trust me, it is clean.

And for the topic using the PC for working: If I were the admin and an employee asked me the very same question, he would actually have to worry about his job.

Is there any message? What is your OS? Can you try to type [Enter]/stuck[Enter] [Enter]/stuck[Enter] when you try to log into the game?

crashed to desktop no messages, windows 10 intel 2 quad core 2.5. i can log back in no problem , it's just scenarios that I have problems with and i also cant use portals in rvr.

Exact problem with my friend. He cant join sc or whatever place with enemies. Instant crash. Doesnt matter 32 or 64 bit. And win10 too.
We tried double /stuck at loading screen, we tried quit guild, another launcher from Max Hayman. Anything what we find. Nothing helps.
Now he is download game again. Clean install.
