They are fine in small scale, and yes there melee trains were dominant.

It's fairly clear to anyone who played WAR that taking 2-3 years to get an archetype some semblance of balance probably means they were poorly designed in the first place. And even then, they still couldn't get the rest of the RDPS right.

It was not so rare, at least on KN.
Whenever colo was called out, most t3 went there. Only ultra casuals did not care about it but those were ignored in a fight anyway.
Dying is no option.
