The openning post explains exactly what all players who have a high renown SW as main feel.
It seems that there is no one in the balance team playing SW and able to contest this patch.
When you look summary notes for each range dps class, you can see the diffrence between all and SW.
Sorcerer :
- The balance team has decided to not make significant changes to the core mechanic of the Sorcerer. Sorcerer is already the most squishy class on Destruction and we felt that if we would add a more complex mechanic to the class, it would become too niche.
SW is fragile too, and the new Festering seems a complex mecanic to play.
BW
Same analysis.
plus:
- The area of effect damage of the Bright Wizard is already rather strong. Additionally the balance team feels that the spec already feels good and fun to play.
I agree for the same for AE SW, AE effects are rather strong and fun to play, so why nerf it ?
For AE dps Class with pet, there is improvement of pet utility.
- Daemonic Minions have been reworked to feel more rewarding to play around and use
- Turrets have been reworked to feel more rewarding to play around and use
- The Path of Big Shootin' has been improved by increased synergy with Gas Squig and a reworked Poison Arrer. Offering a more competitive alternative next to the current ranged "meta" playstyle revolving around Quick Shootin' abilities and tactics combined with Finish Em Off.
In this, we understand that a build is very strong and that the patch will up other build to be as strong as it.
Strangely on the SW they nerf the build instead.
- We've slightly reduced the size of the game's largest toolkit, but done so in a way we think doesn't take away from the overall feel and fun of the class or its versatility.
Good, I hope to keep the same overall felling and fun to play on my AE SW; but i fear not.
- AP costs have been equalized between many of the near-mirror abilities shared with the Shadow Warrior.
But the pet doent use action points of the SH; so that, whith the same pool SH+pet do +-150% damage compared to same SW,with the complexity to defend vs SH and the pet. This is why at the beguining ability costs where differents.
After all that said, all SW hope that the part of the patch concerning the SW will not be on live server. If change are necessary, that doent meen to kill the class, SW players will agree changes similars at all others range class, but not changes destroying all builds.
P.S. Sorry for my poor english, this is not my mother language.

Re: SW feedback 2026/7/23 Patch Nite
RSW and ASW both feel really strong, 8-9k 3 seconds burst windows.
Re: SW feedback 2026/7/23 Patch Nite
If I may add my conclusions on aSW PTS changes:
aSW is losing around 2k armor in Assault stance while gainig 100 Ini, it does not have any defensive stats like mSH (toughness and wounds) from its stance, it also doesn't have Dual Wield which gives passive 10%, which is why I assume it gets parry from the stance itself.
The sets available to the class also don't provide any parry for defending in close combat, and it looks like the new weapons won't get that stat either, similar to LV weapons.
Then we are getting a new AA dmg bonus, but we are losing AA speed, while mSH is retaining AA speed while also getting AA DMG.
Without AA speed the burst window increases,
the new dmg bonus from (eagle eye) seems to be proc dmg (that cannot crit) (and it seems to be bugged on pts and not deal the proper/tooltip dmg on training dummies)
The defenses we get from the new ability Blurring Blade lasts only 5 seconds which is in my opinion not enough, even defensive morals last 7+ seconds.
And the last thing, I don't know why this is still a thing, but why is the slow on a CC ability? If the target is KD for 3 seconds, the slow effectiveness is only on another 3 seconds, can't the slow be put on a different ability, with mby a 5 sec duration?
I believe that the proposed SW Assault changes could benefit from some more analyzing.

Oh really? I say RSW is more in the range of 6-7k 3s burst.lemao wrote: Mon Jul 27, 2026 12:49 pm RSW and ASW both feel really strong, 8-9k 3 seconds burst windows.
Post your exact build and rotation or did you made these numbers up?
Re: SW feedback 2026/7/23 Patch Nite
How about you post your build and rotation so we can show you how to improve your gameplay?
Of course everything that doesn't fit your narrative must be made up.

He said RSW and ASW both feel really strong with 8-9k. Ok, prove it. Otherwise didn't happen. Made up.noronn wrote: Mon Jul 27, 2026 2:01 pmHow about you post your build and rotation so we can show you how to improve your gameplay?

10k ASW, 9k Fester - Go figure the build out yourself. I probably made these numbers up anyway.lumpi33 wrote: Mon Jul 27, 2026 2:40 pmHe said RSW and ASW both feel really strong with 8-9k. Re: SW feedback 2026/7/23 Patch Nite
That's not a proof at all. You could have done that dummy kill with any class (looks like magus). Someone else also could have damaged it.noronn wrote: Mon Jul 27, 2026 2:47 pm10k ASW, 9k Fester - Go figure the build out yourself. Without exact build and rotation it can't be verified. I still think it is made up.

Say what you want. Made up until "proven" otherwise. I can post screenshots like this as well saying it was on my Knight. lol...noronn wrote: Mon Jul 27, 2026 2:55 pmLMAO - die on your hill then.lumpi33 wrote: Mon Jul 27, 2026 2:52 pmThat's not a proof at all.
