RF: +240 to three stats, on the tank
NCM: +256 WS to your DT, +128 to groupmates within 30 ft.

And what about BO/SM damage? Some people says even without that many cc Bo is fun becouse they have more damage then other tanks. I think (correct me if i wrong) chosen/kotbs has way more damage then all other tanks. Most of the people probably want to make BO/SM more useful for party. I would leave these to chosen and BO/SM would do a bit more damage with another interrupt which was "Right in da jibbles" for BO i think.

The thing is this isn't about dmg, late game you take tanks for 2 things:
To tank and for utility such as cc, buffs and stuff Bo's and SMS lack that second component hence why they were never popular

Hmmmm for me the Blorc and SM are not pure tanks like Knight and chosen so i dont understand why all here want to change that. I played blorc and SM on live allways 2 handed on premade party and its insane those 2 class should be played on offensif spec for me whit shield or not they have a good dps on lvl 40 and they are good support for other dps whit the debuff spirit + debuff statistic and when its difficult to rush or when they are guarding a dps under some attacks they have a nice shield buff or wound buff for protect themself.
So if SM and Blorc are what they are on this game it's because they are usefull like that sure they have some disavantage but have other advantage for premade etc. We are just at lvl 26 some usefull abilities are missing for us, we dont have rvr gears whit theirs rewards (+xx str, +xx tough etc etc) and renown points arn't release.
So if you want some good buff for your premade run whit knight and IB or BG and Chosen and if you want stats buff or playing on resist debuff add 1 SM or 1 Blorc on your premade.

It can be kind of hard, funny even when people discuss a game like warhammer's meta, becuase it isn't really that competitive.Bignusty wrote:snip
But when we talk about anything regarding balance on the forum, 99% of the time we are discussing high level play 6v6. In which most groups run a 2-2-2 (2 tanks 2 healers 2 dps), and at the very highest level of play/meta SM and BO are left out becuase those 2 tank slots are better filled by a knight and IB or Chosen and BG.
When you talk about balance in that regard, you are comparing the class to those competing for its spots in a 6 man foremost, then you look at it's mirror and archetypes, usually the class by itself is looked at lastly or is of no real importance.
The goal anyways of this thread, or any discussion about BO/SM for that matter is to buff them to the point where say...an order 6 man premade, would consider a SM a good pick over an IB or Knight, in some kind of relevant/meta situation. Because currently there is no realistic situation where SM is a better pick than IB/Knight.
While SM/BO can do more damage and have better kits for it (though the most infamous dps tank is chosen?) damage is not the 1st priority a group considers for those 2 tank spots when filling out a comp. Tanks are brought for gaurd obviously which all have access to, but also how well they can buff the real dps, healers, and how well they can debuff and control a fight through CC etc...
SM/BO seem to be in some weird middle ground were they don't fit into the current meta. There are other ways I think you could indirectly buff these classes by changing certain game mechanics to break that 2-2-2 or making DPS tanks more viable etc...

Stats buff is unreliable unless you spam aoe like your kb in which case your giving out free immunites and you need 2 tanks with SnB to guard the mdps in your party

RF is an awfully made tactic, but it is honestly the only thing that makes "DPS" knights even a thing. But the worst part is it is just as good on s/b knights, in fact better because you can get higher parry w/ shield on.Penril wrote:I think they should leave it as it was. RF should of been made something like the 11 point tactic in conquest, and changed to require a parry w/ great weapon equipped, and knight should have the same GW tactic most tanks get (10% dmg 5% parry?).
The whole knight class and tree is just badly made, it just happens to have really good tactics that allow large amounts of damage and healing scaling groupwide that make it #1.
