Re: Upcoming Item Rebalancing

Historically speaking, i see this as bad for the game.
Your complaint is that a tank with massive group utility loses 1v1 to a 1v1 class that isn't wanted in groups?zgolec wrote: Sun Mar 29, 2026 8:58 pm With all the melee power, crit, bypass and weapon proc do you plan to introduce Fortitude or something else working like it back on tank items? Its ridiculous now with some dps [*cough, cough* WE] being more tanky 1v1 in long fights then a tank... Yank w/o healer that heal him from behind is not a tank anymore but renown pinata![]()
Sever1n wrote: Sun Mar 29, 2026 5:39 am Have no idea why change things that is working normally , and why such changes are priority.
Changes like tank warlord nerf, disrupt patch and parry patch backfired on some classes hard, and after years u still ignore that issues. If gear changes that u plan to do will be done in same manner, it will create more problems than solve. Hope it will not be a bombdrop patch with basilion changes, instead it will be carefull step by spep minipatches for groups of gear where u first show idea to comunity, listen where it can potentionally backfire, and only then make change. To me with bunch of toons you just anounsed massive headache, with ton of potentional grind on all of them.
And again why start this, when class balance clearly not done (BG, Sork, Runniegeddon, guiltysoul, WE heresy etc). When city as game mode is dead. When ranked is totaly RIP. When blobing in rvr is evolving into something monstrous. Instead you announce new portion of questionable chaotic metashift.
Am i understanding corectly that stats of items that we carefully choosed will now can just switch places, became other stat, etc? Like parry from one piece can suddently became something else? Or only value will be changed? Will it fix weaponskill/wounds/ini starvation on some classes? Will it fix abilities of some classes reach unholy amount of armor without big dmg sacrifice? What will be done to annulus rings that are +-= same stats gensesis give. It raises ton of questions, but usually we dont get any of answers.
I double back these posts.wonshot wrote: Sun Mar 29, 2026 1:53 pm Hm interesting. It is probably "needed" to reshuffle some of these stats. For example the Gutslime staff is very potent for how easy it is to get and how much magicpower it gives so I can see some items might need to adjusted for the gearing treadmill. And then having the deftdefender genesis piece on the other end of the spectrum.
But whats the overall goal with this reshuffle, is it change for the sake of change? Because you have succesfully implimented 3 sove sets and 3 Lostvale sets, despite having these out-of-line wrongly tuned items. So again, whats the goal here?
What I personally hope to see done if this has to be touched
Make the other weapons more of an alternative to Bloodlord, dont just nerf bloodlord 5% but bring up the different procs on Sentinel, and the weapon dps/stats on lvl 61 weapons.
Address the situation where healer archtypes often keep a lvl 45 weapon instead of the lvl 61 version, because its just better stat optimized. Look at the cases with experienced players and dont just do blanket changes but take some player experience and have a goal for this overhaul.
The defence procs for 2handed tanks are very liked, again dont just nerf the top pick but bring up alternative options.
In the past on RoR we got told "some sets need to be dogsh*t for others to be better" are we past this mindset now(?) alright cool, but then alot of the invader sets need to be looked at again. The price on these put up against how easily you can bypass this ward from just doing 4 bastion stairs runs, buying your later on bis ranked gear to close the ward + bs drops is a common solution around invader just not being appealing for a late expensive set. I just hope you have all of these complications in mind and dont do this patch just for the sake of doing it, so its easier in the future to plug in stats on new pieces for TOVL but as a result leaving alot of gearing players or veteran players upset because their current gear gets massively changed and their timeinvestment is not respected.
Dont get me wrong, I do think this could be a possitive! But you need to handle it correctly, and carefully. Thanks for the heads up.
(Now time to see if my ranged classes survive the RDPS patch AND a stat reshuffle patch this year. GULP)
