How about a response not steeped in myopia. Lion, this issue has been relevant longer than the implementation of the recent patch. It isn't a question of what I may have been expecting, it is an issue of what has occurred over time and the effect those changes have had on the serve, all of which combined have brought us to where we are today.

I voted SC, but it doesn't seem to matter.
Look at the barriers and recent int changes. Pages and pages of negative community feedback, yet devs implement more unwanted changes.
Devs do what they want, not what community wants.

To all the smallscale heros tailgaiting org warbands - you are the problem.
I'm solo roaming, or surfing the zerg occasionally. And getting renown/ crests just fine. The problem of your guild wb is not my problem.

When we ask if people want to go fort during our event, most of the time nobody really wants to go there because it's boring, broken and not rewarding. Therefore, why should players push for forts then?
Sorry for hijacking but do you feel the changes to forts alleviates the boring part from this comment or is it something else you feel is boring with forts?
(I have read the entire topic like I do with most things but I felt I needed to ask here to see if the changes are "hitting the spot" or not)

I suspect that by now well is so poisoned, so to speak, that a lot of people don't test the fort changes at all. Lot of people just don't come to forts or city anymore.

For now, I don't have enough material to answer objectively. It's good to see changes for sure, from what I've heard Forts are more fun now but as guild, we haven't experienced it yet. It triggers our curiosity, certainly.
Subjectively and from what I've read in patchnote, it will force realms to work together and from my personal point of view, I think that it's hitting the spot. It's one step forward in the right direction.

I have only been in one Fort since the changes but from everything I have read it sounds great and thoughtful regarding current population and scaling etc. The Fort /keep and also the PvE changes in general have been very good as far as I know. Sorry I can not provide more detailed feedback yet. And thank you very much for interacting and for your hard work/time

As others pointed out the game feels unrewarding/dull. My suggestions:
1. Reset the rvr area influence bar every time, place additional rewards there.
2. Enlist characters after succesful Fort for additional rewards if realm wins the campaign.
3. Box running needs to go. Revert to previous rvr system, or something better..
4. Bring back medallions. Getting just war crests -that you shouldn’t even spend before approaching r80- seems wrong and very poor design.
5. Increase renown rewards.
6. Make sure gearing up through pvp-only is possible and competitive, and not massively punishing..

How can you have RvR without balance? I find it hard to vote on this one.

Easily - this game has never been balanced
