you criticize and envy the shaman and squig. Only you don't know your class and its abilities. i have a SW HL rr80, i have a shaman rr80 and a squig rr68 .
I know the real problem with this game. The problem is the power of the distance classes currently. The SW and the squig do too much damage!!! the shaman and AM which are healing classes should not do as much damage.
I have been on this server since the launch, currently I no longer recognize the game. For me it has changed its name!!!!

It's almost like playing melee into endless Squig/ sham is painful for some reason

Maybe adding 1sec cast timer on dots can solve this problem? Then when am or sham actaully want to kill something he will need to stand still for 3-4 sec, and will not be able to renew dots on the move.

This could work. There are many ways to fix shamam without destroying the class, if the devs decide to get to it. Similar effect could be achieved by removing some damage from the dots and shifting it to Bunch o'Waagh/Searing touch, making the channels stronger. Would force them to stand in place for maximum damage, requiring better positioning and timing, add some counterplay in the form of interrupts/cc/disrupts/blocks.

Changes need to be always considered alongside with the existence of theses classes as healers. Further diminishing their mobility by adding cast time onto DoT's will also impact both AM and Shaman badly in the way that they can't ever build the counter class mechanic to be able to use it for faster casted heals. In my opinion the way to balance - and this applies to all semi DPS healers - walking the path of a DPS should also decrease any kind heals be it caster or lifetapped. Especially DPS DoK is on a similar problematic level in terms of being able to provide healing while actually being a DPS. Which is currently one of the reasons why abilities like Devour Essence are absurdly strong.

Now if shadow warrior had ranged 4s disarm and a self punt baseline like squiggie alongside their better sustained damage from the redonkers pet...

If you make them deal significantly more dmg or tick significantly faster, sounds good.

This might be the most embarrassing thread I've ever seen on this site.
And for anyone who could possibly care ever for even an instant, I put down shaman years ago in favor of zealot. Zealot is by far the superior support. No one cares about 1v1, and no one should.
Spec for quick escape of your so bothered about run speed. Seriously embarrassed for everyone here.

That's some big brain idea. Let them get a cast time and then just cleanse the dot, so the whole gcd was a 100% waste. Melee attacks should get a cast time too!
