I wholeheartedly disagree with robins statement.
The RNG gives people which have less time for playing at least a chance to get some gear-improvement. Which is ok, as long as people which invest much more time in game get the items also sooner or later (with tokens) OR the items are not considered BiS. Therefore the implementation of the genesis-set is a bad idea.

And I am against any contribution system, because I doubt it is just regarding what each person contribute to the success of the realm. Example: Two person guarding a crucial BO. One person regularly reports enemy player movement he observes to the realm and is vigilant at his station. After hours a superior enemy force suddenly attacks and kills him almost instant. The second person next to him is semi-afk, watching movies, alt-tab out of game to browse the internet and only realises that he was killed after he stands in the Warcamp because the respawn timer already expired.

I am pretty sure the contribution-system evaluate both equally.

So people who don't put in the time deserve to get purple bags just for the sake of it, while others work their asses off, only to have that effort wasted? That, too, does little to keep people motivated to contribute to the attack/defence as much as they can.

People that work their asses off actually earn contribution, and do it more frequently than the casuals that show up once in a while. You have higher contribution, thus higher chances to roll a bag, as well as play more frequently, which is more chances to roll a bag.

That pleb that shows up once a week for an hour or so isn't going to beat you to getting a full set of Conq, but they can log in because they still have a chance to get a piece. Even if that chance is significantly less than your own.

Didn't work to good with Genesis i've probobly taken 300 keeps since Genesis patch and got 0 purple bagss from it. I got 3, i think, from the first days of just farming keep defense all day long then i got nothing for 7 months while seeing people in the full set a couple weeks after it was released. How is that anything but frustrating? Like people said before in this thread you changed the Ruin gear from an unfiar moastly RNG bag system to a token system and people stoped complaining. Why not stick to a winning concept?

Hear hear.

At least give some sort of fragments like Ruin when a zone gets locked (and if your contribution is above a certainly level in order to prevent last minute x-realming). I don't care if you need quite a few of these to get a piece, but at least you feel like you're making progress whilst at the moment it's just mostly luck of the draw.

On live, and as well as here. I've won more bags, especially gold bags by arriving at the last min, not having time to do anything, and getting credit for a bag, than I have being there from start until cap.

We all know farm of ruin set
I may say conq farm is not much different
PvE vs PvP
25 token vs ? medals
and lucky gold bag works as reducing grind
I'm pretty sure bad luck like getting same piece will happen too

primary method to get conq is getting medals
aiming gold bag is testing your luck

I know best solution to this RNG complains
get rid of piece drop and replace it to pure medal numbers
then these whiners might understand how good this was and what they have lost

oh save officer medals too, someday you will convert it.

Spend 4 hours today in Reik.
Once it locked i was like 10-15th contribution.
After the roll i ended up 66th.
Also, there was like 100+ destru in the zone and the loottable had 2 gold bags and 3 blue bags.
How are MDPS and Healers who needs Conq as there main gear ever gonna be able to get the set?
2 gold bags for 100+ people and a really heavily RNG based roll system is not the way to go tbh when you need like 1.5k+ medals for the full set.

Just my 2 cents.

Razielhell wrote:Could we increase the bags that drop for each zone lock though?(I had that discussion with a Dev last year) For example :
4 Gold bags
6 Purple bags
8 Blue bags
16 Greens
20 Whites
So...more winners, and the increase of the rewards will motivate people to stay in their function and fight again.
Opt out would help with RNG too as some people might not want Gold or Purple bags anymore in the future.

We could do that, but it's going to take some time getting the new devs used to the code. Currently the number of bags are set at a range that was appropriate for T2 and maybe 200 people on the server total, not the huge 150v150 battles we've been seeing in T4.
