19. Make room in your Backpack to have at least half of it with empty slots. Helped Thorbolt and me greatly to reduce login crashes.

Add:
20. Reduce in your Menue -> Settings : The Chat Line Cache from 2000 to 120. This will lead to a very hort chat history and in laggy keep fights you will not read much how everyone is talking nonsense. BUT it reduces Lag quite a bit in Keep fights. Or just reduce it from 2000 to something less long.

I used the 4gb patch (step 4) but when I start the launcher it just re-downloads the original WAR.exe, I'm guessing it noticed it's modified or something and then assume it needs an update, is there any way around this?

I believe the 4gb thing is baked into the core WAR.exe now.

Can anyone confirm this please? (Later edit: ran a quick test and the game's still running in 32-bit so I am assuming it hasn't been implemented; if a dev could confirm that would be great).
Also thanks for the list. Looking forward to putting some of these tips in action. It's crazy how i can get framerate spikes on a game from 2008 with a rig having 32GB RAM and a GPU with 8GB.

Actually the game is lagging like hell, i'm giving up with my friend we're stopping playing for now it's unplayable, the game lag every 10 sec.
Everyone in the scenario was complaigning about that and calling the server Laghammer :'(
Maybe there is something wrong with the server.

Everyone were experiencing all the same lags, the server is actuelly offline, i haven't any lag troubles except today, nothing in your post was helping.
The problem is with the server.

True sometimes the whole server is lagging. Sometimes it is just you in a keep defense.
Using listed steps you can reduce your own fps drop in a keep siege and try to fire out some abilities at least.
