Nerfed Buttons
Re: Nerfed Buttons
I stand corrected then. I figured it could only set ability chains with additional checks for various requirements such as behind, parry etc. Then I guess it would require something more than just a macro on my naga to replace it.

Most of you seem to forget PvP isnt just about setting up a rotation and mashing buttons, 90% of the work is knowing when to push/when to pull back, assisting, coordinating CC, having good situation awareness and generally just judging a situation, having good teamwork and being experienced.
When someone cries about NB you can bet that person got outplayed and needed to whine about something be it NB, xrealming or whatever. NB can be a pain in the ass as much as it can help you and that player who destroys you will destroy you with or without it.
As others have said NB isnt the only addon that can be seen to give an advantage over players who dont use it, the list is endless, for me i use it because i dont have a gaming mouse or 3 hands.
If ppl really must see it removed or changed just get rid of the conditional settings and if that happens it will be interesting to see what other excuses ppl come up with for losing.

I think you are right, but isn´t this an argument for removing it?Morf wrote: When someone cries about NB you can bet that person got outplayed and needed to whine about something be it NB, xrealming or whatever. No more cries and if it doesn´t has an impact at your performance, it doens´t matter if it is available or not.

It will have an impact on some classes. Like slayer & choppa for example. Gonna watch that hotbar 24/7. Re: Nerfed Buttons
I know you're fond of the "X is crying/whining cos he got outplayed" explanation, and it might well be true of some people here. But since there are others who seem pretty clearly not to be motivated by that, it's a largely irrelevant point.Morf wrote:Most of you seem to forget PvP isnt just about setting up a rotation and mashing buttons, 90% of the work is knowing when to push/when to pull back, assisting, coordinating CC, having good situation awareness and generally just judging a situation, having good teamwork and being experienced.

Your point about other addons also giving an advantage has already been addressed: it's a question of the extent of that advantage, and the type of the advantage that it can provide, namely the complete removal --in some instances-- of the need to make conscious gameplay decisions.
Re your "for me i use [NB] because i dont have a gaming mouse or 3 hands": neither 3 hands nor a gaming mouse is necessary. Seems to me you haven't read the whole thread so I'll just re-quote myself:
And to elaborate on that: I have everything hotkeyed (that includes morales) except potions.Zealote wrote:I'm currently playing on a laptop and using a mouse with no extra buttons (except mouse-wheel which isn't assigned to anything), and my only lvl 40 chars atm are IB and BG. It just requires being a bit... creative with your hotkeys.

hm.. ok, thats bad. I don´t play a slayer/choppa.Jail wrote: It will have an impact on some classes. Like slayer & choppa for example. Gonna watch that hotbar 24/7. GG
You mean because of cooldown-timers or rage? Using abilities always on cooldown sounds like a disadvantage for me.
But if it´s really required to play a slayer/choppa, then they should let the ability-rotations (without condition-checks) be available. Nobody wants that this game will be some kind of spreadsheet

Sure PvP is more than just pressing the right abilities at all times, but at the same time when two teams are really close to each other in terms of skill, every small thing can make the difference.Morf wrote:Most of you seem to forget PvP isnt just about setting up a rotation and mashing buttons, 90% of the work is knowing when to push/when to pull back, assisting, coordinating CC, having good situation awareness and generally just judging a situation, having good teamwork and being experienced.

So in terms of advantages over other players: the whole idea of addons are that they in some way improve the way you can play. Most addons though present information in different and generally more optimized ways. There is however a huge difference between showing information and using the information themselves (the addons that is). NB basically "thinks" for players when you put in the right conditionals. And exactly that is what bothers me. If you can only put abilities after another in a macro, I wouldnt mind too much even though I believe WAR was never meant to even have normal ability macros. But once macros almost start playing the game for you, that is where I think the line should be.
