People also play WE's, Magus, 2H Blackguards. I'd prefer a dps shaman over any of those. It just sucks if a dps healer 'steals' a regular healers spot in SC since the queue formula tends to reserve spots for a healer class. Ho well.
Like, if you are a dps healer and you don't see another healer in your party, you SHOULD put on heal gear and tactics and try. Other people make adjustments, you should be no different. Your just bad if you don't do what you can to win. If your a dps tank and your the only tank in your party, and a mdps is getting wrecked, put a shield on and help the healing burden on the team. If you don't, your just bad.

Word of Pain and Boiling Blood are no longer able to proc anything. The Bright Wizard College has confirmed this is a big deal. (stealth nerf)

Wait a second...that sounds like anonymous teamwork. Are you also implying things like changing your assist macro to assist another dps in the scenario? I could live with that.Mez wrote:People also play WE's, Magus, 2H Blackguards. I'd prefer a dps shaman over any of those. Why do we have the heal reductions on Divine Fury?
Just by the nature of it they'll heal less, it's only reducing the effectiveness of throwing a hot while doing damage.

This is 2016. Why do the devs allow the magus to continue to be overpowered?
Re: Dear DPS Healers.. from Us
Divine Fury is just a crappy implementation of what Rune of Breaking / Harbinger of Doom do. To be a broken record, pure playstyle shifters should never, ever be tactics. They should always be core abilities.

WE = Huge burst, heal debuff. Kills focus targets asap.
Magus = bombing/rift potential.
2H BG = Decent damage, can shut down casters better than anyone else tbh.
They all have their uses.
Divine Fury is necessary imo, lest AMs/Shamans become capable of performing two roles simultaneously - which they shouldn't. You can be a DPS and function as a SECONDARY healer, sure: but not both a healer and a DPS at the same time, otherwise other classes are rendered useless.
OT
I am an advocate of playing the game how you wish...however, I believe that one must also have some situational awareness: if you are the only healer/one of 2 healer archetypes, then use your brain and try to heal. You will contribute 10x more that way.
Even if I am playing my DPS WP, I will go heal the best I can if I am the only healer. It's basic common sense.

Seriously. I can't overstate how much I despise this tactic.Azarael wrote:Divine Fury is just a crappy implementation of what Rune of Breaking / Harbinger of Doom do. To be a broken record, pure playstyle shifters should never, ever be tactics. They should always be core abilities.

5k damage/16k heal t3 melee wp's are no way to go.
If you wanna go scenes as melee dps, at least find yourself a pocket guard first.
... I get the point your trying to make, but numbers mean nothing. What if that WP only joined the SC for the last minute and a half? What if that WP had 9 deaths, cause the dual premade target ganked him every moment of his short life? What if that WP was in a party with 5 RDPS and just had zero support? What if he was playing a SC that requires flag capping, and simply wasn't around the fight that often? Things don't happen in a vacuum, and the end SC numbers are almost always entirely irrelevant. My Wh doesn't always have great SC numbers. But he isn't supposed too. Thats not the role he plays in most SCs. Same with my knight, his numbers mean ****. In a flag capping SC, sometimes my fully heal specc'd Wp gets less than 30k heals. Other SCs he gets over 200k when we have a direct fight for 10+ minutes.
Always remember, "For Example Does NOT Constitute Fact"
And getting back to my earlier point, what is "weaker" for that SC in your opinion? The 32 WP that is obviously learning or still gathering gear, or just plain goofing doing that damage/heals or a 22/1X anything that gets 3 shotted and doesn't even have the possibility of having enough gear/abilities to be "helpful"? Should no one queue for SCs unless they are near top rank for that tier with the best gear possible? The biggest issue with saying "these numbers aren't acceptable" is that, where is the line?
You want everyone to pull their own weight. And there is nothing at all wrong with that! But it unless you are playing in a SC that gets lucky and has a dual premade, you quite simply aren't going to get that. And trying to act like if you aren't in the "Most min/maxed or efficient spec for your class then you will not be effective at all" isn't correct. Because, efficiency isn't the priority for everyone. But I take your point, and really agree with you. It gets frustrating to feel like you are "carrying" people.

only thing i have to agree. Will be great if dps-specced healers was counted as dps in terms of party balance for sc.Mez wrote:. It just sucks if a dps healer 'steals' a regular healers spot in SC since the queue formula tends to reserve spots for a healer class. Ho well.
