The actual heal. If you apply a buff to a target which already has an instance of that buff, the original instance is refreshed. That means that its original owner and strength will be preserved.

Sorry if this has been discussed before, but the thread is getting very long :P

Isn't the amount of targets an AOE ability is able to hit, unless stated otherwise in the tooltip, a maximum of 9 targets?
From what I've noticed AOE just hit every target within range?
And are you aware of this?

The AoE max is 9 targets and we're aware of it, yeah.

100% sure. Also some AOE doesn't stack.

Yes 9 max and persistent area aoe doesnt stack

Direct aoe only, or aoe dots as well? What about aerial effects like magus fog?

All. Direct Damage or Aoe dots will only affect 9 random players.

Persistent or channeled aoe like rain of fire or magus mist will affect 9. The next aoe of the same type will affect another 9 players but will not stack.

Some AOE is bugged beyond belief and the radius is far larger than it was on live.
Also the backlash on sorc/bw at max mechanic is much much lower than it should be. Afew backlash at max combustion will kill a bw. Right now it seems it doesn't increase. Result is sorc/bw spamming aoe without drawback.
