Re: Will rifters get punished?

t3 got released before the keeps were fixed. seems like priorities are off a tad.
Can you link a thread that deals with this specific issue? Suggestions what Magus/Engineer should have so they're not pocket Rift/Magnet dispensers?peterthepan3 wrote:Noone is saying otherwise. People have known since the beginning of WAR that Magus/Engi was the gimp class without any designated role or purpose. Those of us who do play the class - and want to be effective in whatever manner that we can be - go rift because it is the only thing that can warrant bringing us to a group.bwdaWAR wrote:Just a thought: if the only reason to play a class is a single, situational use ability, riddled with bugs, then that's a clear sign that the class has some serious design flaws, and the answer isn't "leave the broken ability as it is or people won't play it". That class needs a major overhaul so it's not a one-trick pony.
Rift is not 'riddled with bugs'; it has a few issues as of the current version in regards to range/keep stuff, but other than that it is working as intended. A class overhaul is something that would take a lot of time and resources that the team are probably wanting to use elsewhere for now (understandably)
Your daily reminder that the live server is a test environment dressed up as a broadly functional game, and that while we do our best to create a playable experience, ultimately, live is the testbed.HICKS1986 wrote:t3 got released before the keeps were fixed. seems like priorities are off a tad.
I don't mean to be the debbie downer here, but the wall whines will follow right after you fix rifting through doors. I know class balance is something most frown upon at this time. But, maybe tweaking the class? For example, the damage increase from the pet could be increased, make resummon have no CD and reduce the ap cost to 0 (just like the tactic). It sounds like it would be easier to disable/magnet rift and work on it than to patch it just to have people create more threads like this a week later because they got pulled by a magus/eng through a wall. Increase stagger duration etc.Azarael wrote:Well, it sounds like we have multiple issues here:
1) Rift pulling through walls (missing collision data, so I can't solve this)
2) Rift pulling through doors (bad door object offsets and a bug in the code, which I can try to solve).
This is what I meant. Thank you.Renork wrote:But, maybe tweaking the class? Magus wasn't a weak class live, but only because lotd helped people gain ridiculous amount of crit/talis/pocket items.
In the original 21-31 t3, they were pretty weak and majority if not all people went rift spec (myself included). Once t3 levels were changed and lotd was introduced, then things changed (better tactics available, better gear, etc). In this current version, they are simply rifting bots and nothing more.
Who's INADVERTENTLY pulling people through objects? Were you OJ's lawyer?peterthepan3 wrote: People using rift INADVERTENTLY pulling people through objects, i.e. they are none the wiser - they don't deserve to be punished.
As far as I know doors in rvr are fixed internally and the levers removed.Mez wrote: can we add BO's to that list. Has anyone run within 65 feet of the tavern lately? Trying zooming in and trying to find a lever below you, once inside, while getting kicked in the face. It doth sucketh.
