what about ppl sticking with only one char. I dont xrealm but i also prefer to play 1 char, for whole 5 years of war i played only 2 chars to 80 and the second one was with quite low playtime. So why got penaltizaded about sticking and mastering a single character. Not everyone are altocholics liking to spread their playtime over all charactersPenril wrote:How about this: The more characters you have from the same faction at a certain level , the more bonuses you get.
Marvel Heroes has a similar system, where you get like +5% Xp account bonus for every character you have at level 60, up to a max of +200% i think. In RoR it could be something like this:
- 3 characters at max level (26 atm) on same faction: +50% Inf/renown/XP/gold for any character of that faction you have on that account.
- 6 characters at max level: +100%
- 9 characters at max level: +150%
- 12 characters at max level: +200%
These bonuses would only apply to the faction of the characters you have at that level. So if i have 6 order characters at level 26, i get a +50% bonus on everything applied to all my ORDER characters in that account, but not to destro.
Would this be incentive enough to stay on one faction? Will suck for x-realmers like me who like to fight the zerg. But if AAO is implemented it would compensate for it.

Again this is alpha. Roll as many characters as you feel like as we are all testers here. If you are a douch always join the winning side. If you like the challenge of being the underdog go with the losing side. If I was a Dev I would be pretty ticked off at the community and their feeling of entitlement right now. Once again thank you Devs for bringing this game back from the dead

Did i suggest "give a -50% inf/renown penalty to those playing only one class"??Nameless wrote:

NO.
No one is penalizing you for anything. You won't receive any debuffs or penalties.
Re: X realming and why people do it...
Personally I have 12 Order and 8 Destro classes. I like them all. I played them all up to lvl 13 (did not xp farm, I did hundreds of GoE scens back when lvl cap was 10 and 12), 6 of thema re 20+ and 4 are lvl 26.
I always wanted to play marauder. I have rolled 5 marauders since 2009 but never got them higher tnan lvl 22. So I decided to do it this time. This applies to DoK, SM, SH, KoTBS and many other classes I played superficially. I also never got a BW/Sorc beyond T3. Many call me jack of all trades and I really am. I do not care if I am or not master of any but I have fun with all classes.
On this server, I will have the leisure to play all classes I like (and I like them all) without the stress of a monthly fee. I can also see the progress on their skills and mechanics and have a better idea on the project.
But I hate logging back and forth to the winning/losing realm. When scens were broken and it was sometimes 20v3, it had a point. But now it is cowardly.
Nevertheless, doing a deeper analysis, it is the lack of options. You either get farmed in front of a keep without cease, or just do scens. Many premades roam scens these days, and this is bad for pugs who gets roflstomped very often, so this is not a safe way to get lvl's and scen weapons. The safest way? Join a zerg and semi afk keep takes. Many of us who have played for hours the same faction during its bad times and good times, have witnessed the gradual fall on players' quality when numbers swell. They run away from and fight that is not assured to be won and other things that make bloodthirsty players angry at least.
The solution is either more open zones, or zone ips requiring more effort and coordination. Zone flips and wargazms were the sweetest thing in old WAR. Bring them back. AAO is one reason, and a big one.
I can understand these faction jumpers, but I do not like this attitude. 12h cd on faction change will just lead many to make 2nd account. Do not bother with it.
Edit: Do not try to take measures thinking the playerbase will act seriously. When IB's had spammable aoe, in ORvR events were many exploiting groups, who could wipe full WB's.
When shamans/AM's were dominant, there were many people that played nothing else, and after fix we have never seen them again.
Accept that rule and act accordingly.

Re: X realming and why people do it...
instead give buff to everyone else? Hows that different, you promote and give rewards on ppl with many char on same realm to promote playing on one realm but exclude all the ppl that do that with a single char. Buff everyone else beside the few of you no matter that all doing the samePenril wrote:Did i suggest "give a -50% inf/renown penalty to those playing only one class"??Nameless wrote:

and OP, dead wrong, at least in most cases.

Re: X realming and why people do it...
Why do you care? You only play one character dont you? You will be rr80 before altoholics get to rr40 on their second character.Nameless wrote:instead give buff to everyone else? They will need those bonuses in order to level their alts. You won't.
If you still think you are being "waaa waaa punished waaaa" let's just implement that other suggestion that also buffed players according to their played time. Your character has 25 days? Here is your +50% reward. Happier?
But as i said, since you will be higher level/RR, those bonuses will be useless for you anyway.
EDIT: This suggestion is stop people from playing the opposite faction. Those who get bored with only one character and like to try more might be tempted to stay on just one faction so they can get these bonuses and level faster. People who play only one character don't need this incentive.

Re: X realming and why people do it...
Edited my original post because some people are quoting me with the "players get buffs for having several characters at max level" suggestion. I changed it to be at max RR. Guess some people only read the first page and then go on and post
