Does weapon skill armor penetration work?

Yesterday I checked - crits on abilities weren't even working at all. It showed a crit in combat log, but the damage was 100% exactly the same as in a normal hit. That, combined with lack of extra penetration should make for more damage, no?
If detaunts guard challenge and armour isnt calculated correctly on instant abilities then particularly mdps will be doing less burst.

I think after fix partys, stats should have the top priority, i still duno how i am able to crit heals if i suppose to have 0% healc rit chance, must mean other chance to be crit work even for heals.
Also we do not get show still block/parry /dodge /disrupt, we kinda need workig stats/combat formula now that party situation is not so bad, renow can wait.


All combat basics need to be re check.

Don't you get a basic crit chance?

Anyways, for the topic - Has this been already done and is live?
From the wording, I assume this change has already been implemented so I went around testing it and it seemed to work (tho the numbers in combat log were still off) to a point, until I hit this:

Again, both cases HP left from 100% was exactly the same yet combat log showed a decrease in target damage mitigation.
Is there like a cap as to which I can't penetrate somebody anymore? Where is my 5 damage going? The 3 decrease in mitigation, but only 1 increase in damage from the hit before? Am I not understanding this system properly, is it still broken, or has it not been patched up yet? :roll:

Maybe the correct post mitigation dmg wasn't being sent to the client?

Regarding Crit:

(Offensively) in Live, there was always an intrinsic % chance to crit (iirc it was 10%) that you didn't see on the char sheet (dd, heal, whatever). E.g. Some testing on a L1 no-gear toon on a T4 Chosen with 0% chance to be crit still registered crits

Additionally for damaging purposes, depending on the Initiative of the target there was an additional chance to be crit (however stacking init wasn't worth it as it yielded diminishing returns far earlier than other stats

Finally there were bonuses to crit from items/tactics/effects etc

I think what you're seeing is a combination of the intrinsic crit % and underdeveloped initiative stats (very little gear contribution to Init stats generally) which can lead to a further 10-18% chance to be crit

Afaik, no base stat bore any contribution to increase chance to crit (only specific +melee crit, + heal crit etc)

However your own Initiative affected a bonus any incoming attack would have to crit you

Although I'm pretty sure the Initiative bonus/penalty didn't improve your chance to be crit healed

On your char you viewed incorrect tooltip values that didn't take attackers stats into account. The real values was calculated like this on live

you will also see that "effective rank" is used in most of the formula. the way effective rank is worked out is fairly simple, if your renown rank is above 80, you do:
rank+TRUNC((renown-80)/4)=effective rank
TRUNC = truncate (round down)
...
critical hit rates are affected by defenders initiative vs attackers rank, in the following way:
(7.5*<attacker effective rank>+50)/<defender initiative>/10

Also Intel would decrease your chance to be disrupted and Will your chance to disrupt as I see similar levels of disrupt from mdps as healers I dont think thats implemented either.

Afaik in WAR every char has a base chance to get "healcritted" of 10%.
