That is true you dont need the best gear, it helps but just for an example, right now with my shaman 1 armor debuff from an engi turret leaves me an armor rating of around 40, some armor talis wud help but that wasnt really my point to why i think allowing us to buy talis from vendors would be beneficial to every player and dev.Dana wrote:
Sure nothing is perfect and many things in WAR aren't but most things people complain about I don't understand. Most people complain about farming , talismans , potions and how much time they need to get things.
I don't mean the bugged Lootlists and Droptables , they are bugged for sure.
But why people still farm when they only complain about it?You don't need the best gear ingame to become a good player. And you don't need the best talismans or potions to become a good player. Most gear you can buy on vendors and on auction house is as good as the gear you can farm. You can go on playing in RvR without the best things ingame. When you need the 1 or 3 points difference on an attribute you should think about it.
I see people with Level 1-9 in sc better playing without gear or shitty gear then full equipped level 12 characters. And the same was on Mythic servers in higher tiers. That many level 40 rr 100 characters with all possible talismans and potions but they got owned by people who know how to play their character.
+ shouldn't be there something for people who spend their time in the game? What's with people who like to farm or grind or like spending time on a game to get special stuff to have the best gear/talismans/potions. There isn't a big difference but they have the best things ingame and fun to do this. And there are people who like this, Sure they are in the minority but they are there.
For the devs it would require alot less work, only talis and being able to slot them would be needed, you wouldnt have to bother introducing all the mats from corpses, the crafting window, crit success for green, blue, purp etc and all the stuff that goes with crafting talis which i imagine would be alot of work.
While i also would like to see war how it was with mayb a few changes here and there i think its only realistic to not expect this and any time saved on things that wouldnt define the reason for someone playing or not can only be positive.
For us players i dont see us missing out on anything, i say again crafting in war was not unique, fun or interesting it only involved grinding and time, mayb a sense of achievement to completing something ? but ppl didnt play war to craft.
Another thing to note is basic armor and armor sets have strange stats, some stat bonuses were pointless and while we are all affected by this wouldnt it make sense to allow us to chose how we want to play our chars ? waiting all the way to sov for the option to chose def/heal or dps seems a long way away if ever. Variation or options to how you can play your class is never a bad thing and speeding up the process by letting players buy talis instead of spend alot of time crafting them can only be seen as a good thing.
