Re: MAY be a silly question...
My problem with WoH was that there was no strategy in ability usage whatsoever so you were just slapping those 5 buttons in a specific order every time. I guess the strategy was in teamplay but good luck with that in soloqueue.

Re: MAY be a silly question...
WoH and WHO are two separate animals. WoH as you know was just scenarios which is an insult to WHO fans, plus it never got off the ground so there is no knowing what it couldn't turned into. WHO on the other hand is that and hell of a lot more. I could totally see WHO not changing in game play one bit, but adding a layer of gear purchasing to it. Not stat gear just gear for looks. Let the player transfer stats from their best gear to the sets they buy.
Nice idea, but I really don't think EA would part with the WAR assets unless they made a profit on it. They paid a lot to buy them and would sit on them until they turned to dust before they would let them go for less. Beside you still have to deal with Games Workshop for the license. If I'm correct, Sega only owns the 40k stuff.

You need to recode whole renderer from engine to "add some graphics", I think its impossible without source.Sarasil wrote:What are you talking about, WAR looks beautiful! Add some of that "new graphics " and it will just look boring. :'DPartizanRUS wrote:Code is terribur and 3D graphics are outdated for 5 years. Art and concepts can have value only because its Warhammer and without IP license its useless. WHO fell into a stagnant rotting pit of EA.

Re: MAY be a silly question...
Naw it was in one of the posts I linked, they ended up with the rights to ALL future Warhammer games. GW even said they were happy about the new relationship or some such. Sega said they were planning to launch a new WAR fantasy game eventually (though I'm not sure if they meant 40k or not - I kinda consider that one more Sci-Fi than fantasy, but who knows)Grolar wrote:Sega only owns the 40k stuff.

And you could use Sildur graphics update if you want better graphics

Wish I could delete posts from this thread as being off-topic, the problem would be that the whole thread would have to be deleted...
Re: MAY be a silly question...
Sega pays GW for use of the Warhammer Fantasy Battle IP.
Warhammer online AoR was the Warhammer Fantasy RolePlay IP
two seperate beasts that are set in the warhammer universe (aka lotr with added halflings soup)
but the IP for warhammer online was for Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay game setting are either ®, ™ and/or © Games Workshop Ltd 1986-2013
So this IP is still up for grabs, and sega could not take Warhammer Online AoR unless it asked and paid GW for another IP deal.
it is an alternative Age of warhammer fantasy that includes a war and the coming together of two factions (the factions are made up of us the players all role playing our chars within the rpg settings, not units and named heros which it would have to be to be the FB IP) within the fantasy rpg setting. it is not a fantasy battle scenario
