New lifetap performs its role well? That's good, and I never suggested anything other being the case. Still won't keep up a target as well as TE does, which is the whole purpose of the 'nerf' in the first place.

The idea as how to make a build with as much sustain as with the old TE, while also having a good dps. And yes, can still be done, tested it (if you remember back from our conversations on magus, I'm pretty good at coming up with unusual builds).

Transfer essence was powerful because it allowed dual wield DOK to heal entire group within 100 feet on spam ability that hit hard and healed for lots.
You'll notice way fewer dps doks now.
