Last I checked we don't balance tactics for pve additional this isn't some exclusively pve tactic like the mob threat mechanic tactics

Lastly what is a tanks role in pve? Tanking and this tactic is the exact anthems is of that role


Any pretty much any tactic can be used in a pve environment , just becuse you could have it be useful in such an environment dosnt mean you should balance it from that prespective

I think he is concerned that this will impact out nonexistent pve content somehow. Seems like a dumb digression imo.

His concern is legit, and I already pointed out there won't be crazy PvE gear stats. There is no need to call anything "dumb". Let's get back to the issue raised.

You guys joking? I'm talking about tactics usage in pve for Offtanks! It's great for crossguard since armor doesnt mitigate guard damage, offtank does less aggro and does more damage on top of that. My concern is what will happen when we gonna get pve content.

15% really isn't that much though.

On a 6k burst rotation it only adds 900 damage. Essentially giving 1 extra auto attack. For such a small gain in damage no sane person would take even a 10% reduction in their armour value.

Greatweapon mastery gives 10% extra damage and 5% parry with no downside. FO would need to compete with that tactic for a slot in the tactic bar. So if FO comes with a downside, its got to be a much higher increase than 15% extra damage.

Perhaps not on SM and others but on BO it would be noticeable and the last thing they kinda need atm is MOAR DMG

If we are balancing for warbands, why need the change? Are there some massive physical AOE WB specs that are just ruining this tactic? Focused offense is simply a solo/pug, PvE and gross melee train tactic. Are we trying to buff melee trains and sc pug tanks that overextend to the back and sit on a healer until one of them dies? At best change to 15/25

But there isn't any pve content, and there won't be until the instance creator is ready which won't be for a long time IIRC. Why discuss a relatively minor issue that only affects hypothetical future content when we could discuss relevant content that all players engage in currently and will remain relevant throughout the servers lifetime? I don't get the comments about pve gear, since no one mentioned it. Megadeth is talïking about off tanks in pve, which I think is an odd discssion to have since the vast majority of players are, and will continue to be, pvp focused and moreover, we don't have any real pve content and won't for the foreseeable future.

EDIT: @porkstar balance isn't only at wb level, and I don't see how melee trains are any grosser or more annoying than firing squads. Plus the tactic is there, dps tank is a playstyle, and so it makes sense to balance it.
