neither of these are official, and I cant speak for any other member of staff but while I have both I despise discord and dont get notifications from it, so if you want to get ahold of me at least IRC is a better option.

Dont get me started on it, the damn thing almost broke my computer when I was invited to the skype groups -.- that program sucks!
Slack is pretty damn nice yes, but I love IRC

I'm the last person actually using IRC at my company - however since we control all our deployment, promotions, and non-sudoer ops jobs via the IRC bot I maintain for us... All those twisted Slack lovers still have to login to the company IRC server.
