As the thread has been necro'd I won't start another but I was wondering about the AE spec and assuming you are working in a group. Anyone use or have opinions about Shadow Knives (I assume take it?); Black Horror (I've heard folk say useless); and whether left over points are worth putting toward Gloom of Night or if it's just better to push up Path of Calamity for resists. Any advice welcome.

Remaining 3 points and 4th tactic use is dependent on the group:

1. can get glorious carnage and M4 from AoE tree and have it built up in 30 seconds and available every minute (thats 3 remaining points gone)
2. infernal gift to boost the party damage
3. close quarters for shorter casts
4. frozen fury
5. Triumph blasting to annoy all of your group members

You can take Hand of Ruin to help with single target (and also boost icy spikes).

With it you can build morale 4 in less than 30 seconds and get a coordinated strike at the beginning of the combat

I wouldnt use the first tactic in the aoe tree. It was horribly unreliable during live and doubt they fixed it.

Id go something like this.. Ff one gets punted id go infernal wave in air then shadow knows next gcd. When getting M2 then spam shattered shadows.

Is close quarters bugged by any chance?
I tried the AOE build, but if i get close to my target the cast time is always the same

For bombing sorcs, there are a lot of alternatives depends the warband composition but here is default one for me, nice synergy with choppa's "chop fasta" + zealot's "ap ritual"

About the close quarters: If you're well healed and in defensive gear. If you coordinate your Shattered Shadows with = Resolute Defence + Focused Mind + Champion's Challanged Healer or 2hander.

About forth tactic: It might be Frozen Fury or Piercing Shadows.

Haojun do you use shattered shadows withot m2 and if you are not in range for close quarter? What would be the best bombing sorc skill if you're on the move?

I never use SS without close quarters or focused mind.

Your main bombing enstruments are Ice Spikes , Disasterous Cascade , Infernal Wave and Surging Pain.

About piercing shadows tactic, is the backlash damage unmitigable? With 100 Dark magic you are doing around you 375 damage from backlash, while you spam all of your aoe skills?

Other I know all go the basic sorc spirit damage path, but anyone tried running for mostly corporeal focused damage with sorc. Having a black orc debuffing your targets, should make your surging pain, doombolt, shadow knife, ice spikes do good damage.
