so im playing a bit of uthgard atm.. seemingly they disabled maps because the old client didnt have that, which seems like a hardcore change to me but okay. also its quite a pity that they wont implement shar, half ogre and frostalf as well. not sure how long the testphase will last, but every progress made then will be deleted. but since one can insta lvl to 30 atm and test a bit, i guess its a good time for ppl interrested to check it out for a bit and see how it plays out. i have to say its really fking oldschool ~_~

They're adding maps in-game at some point. You can get maps in-game now by using a UI that has Atlas. I use EggiSohwyn but the most popular UI is Bobs.

Yes, the mana regen was also incredibly slow. I don't remember it being THAT slow. I'll give it another shot once i50 is out.

Blergh.. the more i browse on their forum the more i think i wont play it anymore. Horrible manareg, monotonous group setups, since half of the classes are seemingly unplayable in 8v8 because of OldRAs, tank heavy with little to no chance for caster setups. To top it their staff seems to be adamant in their decision of not changing anything that could provide a little convenience or balance, so i guess its dead for me

Well, that was 1.65 Daoc. They wanted to recreate that.

There is a reason games get patched and improved upon and there is a reason why people forgets how terrible some things were and actively try to bring back the old times.

Well i myself was looking for some nostalgic feeling like you say, but the amount of uncomfortableness and bad decionmkaing that is going on greatly outweighs my desire to get the "good old times feel" there. Another problem is see is that there will most likely be pretty much no influx of any new players for a game like this - especially if they artificially make it more hardcore by picking a seemingly bad patchstate
