I will post this in case it will help someone else coming here for help.

I'm running windows 10 and I had this problem with the authentication today on my desktop, the game have worked before. In my case windows couldn't identify my network at home so it was set as a "public network". There was no exception for war.exe in the windows firewall so the firewall blocked war.exe by default.

Fix: I added War.exe to windows firewall exceptions, allowing it for both private and public network.

I am going to be crazy. Nothing works for me.
