In reality and not on planet crazy pants where this Mowgli (jungle book reference) is from who knows so much about WL's.... IT NEEDS A COOLDOWN. It should not be spammed. You may not use it a lot b/c you might not be very good. I have seen WL's who drop 15-20 kb's an SC know exactly when to use it. Pounce here, pounce there, they use it a lot. Why worry about positioning when you can let your enemy do it for you lol. If you want to give it a snare cool. Give it a 10-15 second cooldown like other gap closers.
29 pages of a crazy man saying crazy things is fun, but eventually there needs to be logic... something that makes sense maybe.. To Liandel - not a single person here is taking you seriously. Nearly everyone here is trolling you. Everyone besides WL's thinks pounce needs a CD and most of them do anyway as well. Either give me what you're smoking or come back to reality please.
Actually a lot of people take me seriously. I played the class for all five years of live server and know what I'm talking about. Az also says he won't nerf pounce unless something nice is given to WLs, and other balance devs who actually are in control of decisions (not just forum mods) have reassured me that if anything is to be changed, it is going to be discussed on a separate balance thread that is highly moderated and the destro hyperbole will be weeded out.
Not a lot of people take these allegations of WL's OPness seriously. The devs know that there's a lot broken about the class, so I'm sure if they are to make any changes that would hinder it, they'd also offer something good in exchange. A root would be a good thing, but the CD should remain low (5-10 seconds) to compensate for frequent misfires or it bugging out.

But you don't even realize how hard it hits squishies. You also have a charge. Pounce in itself almost doesn't fit in the game in its current state. Sure under the surface there is a little more to it than bounce bounce bounce bounce. But it gives that class an ability that nothing is even remotely close to, that can crit pretty hard on squishies and has no cooldown. Stop being an idiot and trying to rationalize this as being "a fair move" - its OP as *insert 4 letter word of your choice*
Again, not trying to insult you. You just say things and I don't think you realize what you are actually saying. It's like when people thought the world was flat. If they came to us now and told us about it, we'd laugh a little but in reality it is kinda sad :/. But you played live for five years so I'm sure you know better! I guess we should all pack up and head home.
Hey everyone! Pounce is totally legit and maybe we should leave it at no cooldown and also throw a snare in. Maybe even an aoe stagger. - that is sorta how you sound..

So would pounce still be considred viable if it delt no dmg?
In exchange for a snare?
Would still be super annoying though as wl spams pounce so the target keeps getting snaredtil pet reaches you then your perma snared

The ad hominems, strawmanning and misrepresentation against Liandel need to stop.
It's not worth getting worked up over threads that aren't in the balance forum. Until we have T4 / ability bugs worked out and a means of patching the client, we will not be looking further at balance issues. RvR design is a higher priority as well.

And then there will be another Pounce thread next week along with two TE threads
Prolly best to lock the thread then since "
we will not be looking further at balance issues". We can fight this fight another time

If something is considered both overpowered and underpowered at the same time, it's probably in a pretty good spot.

I'm quiet looking forward to a good TE thread.

It was a good run. I'll close this thread down.
Thanks for the input from everyone.
