@the tinfoil hat post

I know that post is stretchy. I'm trying to point out that there is stuff that we don't know about. It doesn't mean that it didn't happen and is definitely not out of the realm of possibility. Also when you have enough money you can do illegal things if you think you can get away with it, this happens constantly with countless historic examples. If the risk reward is good enough... just pay off the legal system. If you don't think we live in a corrupt society that caters to rich people... and everything is Disney...

Truly successful businesses that survive past the trials of being new, are usually the ones that are willing to do things that the others are not. In business there are no rules if enough money is at stake, and doesn’t have the general public’s attention.

At the time blizzard had 10 million subscriptions. Quick google search.

http://www.statista.com/statistics/2766 ... y-quarter/

10,000,000 subs x 15$ sub fee = 150$ million a month x 12 months = 1,800,000,000 dollars a year.

At launch warhammer online had 1.2 million subs

1,200,000 x 15$ sub fee = 18 million a month x 12 = 216,000,000 dollars a year. With a lot of potential for growth. That’s a 12% of market share with the potential for growth that mythic was taking from blizzard. Blizzard see’s it as their money.

If I took 12% of your paycheck with the potential to take more in the future, how would you feel about it? If you could spend 10 dollars to make the problem go away and you’d get 9% back of your paycheck would you spend that 10 dollars? Lets say that if you get caught in the action you might have to pay 200 dollars in fines. Would you still spend that 10 dollars and take the risk? There is a really good chance you might not have to pay the fines.

Ghostweed's furniture company probably isn't nearly as big as blizzard. His furniture company was thinking on doing this kind of stuff. Why wouldn't you think blizzard wouldn't entertain the idea?

If you don’t think blizzard wouldn’t want to push away competition…

Do you think things like this don't happen? There are historic examples everywhere that it does.

Look at the banking industry...Look at U.S. oil companies dumping oil into Ecuador’s eco system. Was it legal? No but they felt they could get away with it so they did it. Even if they were caught the risk/reward is good enough for them to take that action. Money dictates all. If the fine is 100 million dollars but you save 1 billion dollars and the illegal action costs 3 million dollars with specific paid off people, you commit the illegal action. Morale’s do not exist in business.

Look at the U.S. oil industry and all the crazy shady stuff that is pulled. Do you think Blizzard is any different? When you have a monopoly your CRUSH your competition and be ruthless.

There are literally countless examples I could bring up that our society caters to rich people.
I'm not saying all of it happened. Noyone will know what really happened. I really don’t want to focus on this. It is not the point of the thread. I’d like to completely drop this topic as its derailing.

Why do you think there is a movement to get money out of politics?

Laws and rules are flexible if you have enough money...

As Geno said, simple human failure on trying to launch the game before it was ready is much more likely than Blizzard, which had a straggle hold on MMOs, buying off the failure of warhammer. I think I'm done here. Have fun with your theory crafting.

Sorry for this double post.

Back on topic.

Does anyone have a better explanation on seemingly useless abilities? If you have a better explanation I'd like to hear it.

Through my perspective I can explain those seemingly useless abilities.

I can explain alot of useless abillties. I did in a post back.
Game was launched intended to be both a oRVR and PVE, since healers and tanks needed to Quest and do Dungeons they needed abilltirs for that. Thats were moast of the useless abillties come from.

Whats your explanation on winds of insanity on the zealot?

My explanation is that winds of insanity was to be used at key locations and timed specifically. It is my opinion that chaos and dwarves were designed to be boss at objective holding and keep defense.

1. At the door edge of a keep defense to keep players out of a keep. Cycled with other zealots that have the ability.

2. At the back door of a keep to knock out WH from stealth.

3. To be used after a Rift from the magus to ensure the players lost control of being able to use their abilities.

4. To take off pressure from a closely stacked chaos group (similar in playstyle to dwarf groups) from a melee train so you can heal.

There are probably other reasons but these jump out at me as the biggest.

no offence, but blizzard probably didn't even know who Mythic were/warhammer online was. they've never been challenged by any other MMO (especially the ones that self-proclaim themselves ''wow killer''). apart from maaaaybe SWG in 03/04.

@peterthepan3

If I have a smoking hot girlfriend (customer) that has no loyalty and I'm a insecure person (blizzard) and my smoking hot girlfriend keeps looking at some other guy (Mythic). Do you think I wouldn't know about it?

It seriously pays to be very insecure if your making billions. Do you think they kinda don't care because they are so big? Do you think they displace millions for giggles? Do you think they would have remained on top if they kept that attitiude? If this was the cave man days I'd straight kill mythic and point to it to show any other competitors what will happen if you cross me. Which it basically is the cave man days when big money is concerned.

Really...

If I'm Blizzard would I advertise that I'm insecure to the community? Especially would I advertise it to my smoking hot girlfriend that I'm worried she will leave me for this smuck?

Again I really don't want to focus on this.

The point is warhammer online was released prematurely for whatever reasons. We can get pisst at them and blame them for all the mistakes but it could and looks to me to be out of their control. I really don't want to focus on this.
