Haha dude I'm so sorry, I woke up at 6am today, read the post as 'should make 2h tanks mitigate more' (i assumed 'more than snb'). My bad.

Yeah... and they do.... I just showed it above. 9% dodge/disrupt "equivalent" plus the ability to increase these (via renown) AND all the "requires shield" tactics and abilities are HUGE for defensive ability...
Do you know how much damage increase you actually get with a 2H? About 10%.... Its not that much. The real value is in the "requires 2H" abilities - which are NOT defensive but mostly offensive. Hence why I think thats a fair tradeoff.
LTDR: Shield > SNB for "mitigations". Shield abilities are tankier than 2H abilities (which are what provide more damage).
I am pretty firmly convenience (and have been for over a year) that 2H needs to have 10% parry as the built in mechanic as it alligns with what needs to happen for tanks.
Now, things like WL, I dont want to get into this. Obviously it would be a "buff" for them which they need a nerf. I just hope that is coming.
10% strikethrough isnt a bad idea... but it doesnt help the tank where its needed (tankiness) atm or encourage that type of play. In fact in encourages MORE "selfish DPS" builds as its a buff to their damage when what they need is a "buff" to the "guard damage they take".... Also I dont think WL needs a "damage buff" and this would be just that... a damage buff...
(actually now that I think about it, dont 2H already give 10% block strikethrough?)

Its cool

it forced me to to the math which convicted me even further that its a good idea....
So the "tradeoff" for a class like Slayer/Choppa would be:
2H: more parry, and 2H abilities.
DW: More damage via faster attacks to proc.
"tradeoff" for tanks:
SNB: tankier. Access to "shield/block" abilities which also = tankier.
2H: slightly more damage, access to more "offensive 2H" abilities.
However the 2H tanks "ability to mitigate guard" is now built into the class
