Re: Dual Wield and Greatweapon balance

So...... Has there been any update with this? Seems like nearly everyone agreed it was a good idea, minus a few, but I dont know if it went anywhere.

Maybe I missed a post or two here of the 26 pages but it seems like its a fair way to balance weapons?

On the contrary, there was too much dissent to move forward with the suggestion, so it was shelved until a post-T4 date.

a significant potion of the arguments agasit this came from the fact that this would buff SL,choppas and especially WLs Gen is it possible to reclassify ttheir 2 hander weapons like you did with 2h weapons wielded by ams and such so that any buffs to 2h tanks weaposn would only affect the tanks?

I would really like 10% parry strike through on my Grace WP as Parry = me die

Edit - I read through this post and it seemed that the majority of people actually agreed with this. I haven't really understood all this WL hate as I have done SC's everyday for a month for several hours a day and have came across a handful of them maybe? Maybe 1-2 that were any good at all? I guess I don't understand a certain few people basing every single argument/complaint against 1 class that is so underused. Sorry if this is a bit of a rant, but hardly anyone freaking plays one. I really wish people would stop using it for every argument....

Before a DoK jumps in and says "Well you got AOE detaunt mate, you are the most OP class in the universe, you should be an Avenger." First of all, shut up. Second of all you do realize as a melee healer how important any form of parry strike through is just to be DECENT at it in comparison to your Salvation sister who laughs in the backline healing for numbers you only dreamed of (the good ones that is). I have played the **** out of my Grace WP and I can't tell you how frustrating it is to try and Divine Assault to save a teammate and all I see is "parry, parry, parry" when I have nearly 800 str. I highly doubt this would unbalance the game to a level that the sky would fall and WL's would rain down from the heavens to ruin destros day... I think it would be pretty awesome to actually see some 2 handed specs doing more damage and opening up some new meta and new builds to be viable. I know I'm not an old vet, but some people are so salty from years of live breaking them down... Az will not that happen, have a little faith in the guy. Pretty much everything that leaves his mouth as a suggestion is golden as he doesn't open his mouth unless he has something extremely well thought out to say.

Rant over.

Haha so true man. I swear the majority of QQ'ers in regards to Grace/Salv or Grace/Wrath WP were from live b/c they got their feelings hurt. 1000000x different here haha. But oh well. Dumb people will say/do dumb things. Gotta take the high road... with the occasional low road detour every now and then. :) I hope this topic gets revisited as block strikethrough is like my weapon saying "When you hit a target magical glitter puffs out and makes enemy 5x more happy on tickle attacks*

I guess I am ignorant here....

DW gets 10% more parry and more consistant damage. I was reading in another hyper-detailed post about how DW > 2H and it was actually for more than the parry but I cant find the post now. It detailed all mechanics as well as the damage formulas. Like I said HYPER detailed.

So DW gets 10% more parry which is almost univerally useful but 2H get 10% block passthrough which is basically worthless since you shouldnt be hitting a tank anyways AND can just go behind them to hit them anyways...

If we made this 10% parry strikethrough it would make SL/Ch/WL buffed? Most SL and CH I know use DW.... It seems like if they want to lose 10% parry for 10% parry strikethough that seems more than fair to me. getting 10% parry is HUGE anyways and seems like they easily offset eachother.

All it would do is actually make 2H a more "DPS" focus while DW would be defensive focused....

It actually makes 2H "tanks" a little more potent, but more squishy. I mean its not like a PURE "win" to go 2h as you lose valuable parry % from dropping DW....

I guess I just fail to see how its going to "buff" any specific class. It seems like it buffs a weapon type that is currently underperforming compared to other options?

DW takes advantage of proc based damage buffs because those deal a flat amount of damage instead of using wep DPS as baseline for the damage dealt, meaning faster or more auto attacks gets more damage from those sources (sorc/bw wp/dok etc...).

Somewhat how I feel as well....

If I take a step back and look at this 26 page thread:

Az: hey guys 2h underperforms, thinking about buffing it a little by making it parry strikethrough so DW and 2H moot out eachother.

Everyone: Ya!

Everyone (again): oh wait... thatll buff classes that can use 2h.... Booooo

Devs: Ok so lets just leave it underperforming since itll buff classes that use 2H..... (wait... isnt that the point of this thread?)

I guess I just dont get it, seems like a fair trade off to me. DW = 10% more parry. 2H = 10% parry strikethough.

2h attacks a DW player = ZERO advantage.

Right now DW has EVERY advantage > 2h.... Which is why noone uses 2H when they can DW

yet another reason why 2H needs to be "brought up" to DW level to compensate for this... I believe this is what that other thread was referring to actually now that I think about it. THANKS!
