so you asking DPS specced AM for heals? Do you know how much he is able to "heal" in such spec? It's near to useless. So no, it's doesn't help to "collective success". Making proper party before joining scenario - yes.

Well its not that hard to get such nubmers on Praag, when you camp them and just dot-hot everyone, while you wait for the scen to end.
By no means I would call that's actual healing, but I'm no healer

If the person the healer dot-hot heal get all the heal from the entire 15sec durable, it mean that the heal is doing its job.
Or the other side just failed badly

I love dps healers :^)
The only ones that suck are the ones that..
1) Don't detaunt and die in 5 seconds
2) AM's/Shammies that go to the front and get slaughted in 5 seconds or less.
3) The ones that don't bother to throw an occasional hot here and there (so many doks do this).
4) Don't heal themselves. LOL (this happens more than people think)
On the other hand, having such dummies in your team means the attention from the opposite side will be shifted to them and you can get a kill or two thanks to their stupidity.

so, on a not so serious note, can we have the heal debuff dot dropped from asuryan 9 to asuryan 5? i hate having to choose between asuryan and vaul trees ;p

Yes they can and the good ones do, 99% dont though as only ever have themselves set as the defensive target
By default, they are the defensive target
If you see a AM who place someone else as defensive target, it mean the AM actually heal someone else

Would just promote cookie cutter specs and kill build variety/choices. A better option would be to buff certain skills in the trees to make them more valuable. A big problem this game has is mastery progression is totally out of whack, players should be rewarded with better skills the deeper they spec into a tree, and those skills should define/supplement the play style. And because in WAR you can spec into multiple tress that should also be taken into consideration when building up the trees so you don't have cases where a core spec is left with 3 options and 1 stands out above the other 2 as clearly better for almost every imaginable situation.

Like, if you are a dps healer and you don't see another healer in your party, you SHOULD put on heal gear and tactics and try. Other people make adjustments, you should be no different. Your just bad if you don't do what you can to win. If your a dps tank and your the only tank in your party, and a mdps is getting wrecked, put a shield on and help the healing burden on the team. If you don't, your just bad.
^I agree with this^. I run both a DPS AM and a DPS Shammy (and DPS/Shield tank). Its not hard to carry another suit, staff and jewelry even if its scrubby gear. Switch tactics and be more team friendly. Clearly the heals won't be near as good as a pure spec healer, but its better than totally ignoring your party. If you absolutely refuse to heal (ok sometimes I am not in the mood either) then party buff and step out into your own party. At least you won't be psyching your team into thinking heals are coming. If I am in a party and there are 2 AMS or 2 Shammies, I will often inspect the other one to see if they are healing or DPSing and will adjust accordingly. And if you are DPSing, its advisable to Pre-Hot everyone as they are about to engage
