Well we roleplayers are guilty of a lot of things, but with aoe heals through walls we have nothing to do. But climate change, thats us.
But back to topic.
If damage shouldnt go through walls, then why healing should?

No official font, but los heal are require to make ppl alive, in keep siege, when there are terrain that can make occur los even if target is totaly in line of sight, when ppl overextend in los, when healer are healing in los spots due to punts.
I dont think that any sane ppl would change aoe heal los system, cos it would have to rewamp the entire combat system. And also cos is easy; when war was created to solve the healer problem they decide to make healer easier than the other classes to play.

Not blaming anyone not even saying AOE heal wo LOS requirements are bad
Just guessing how it came to be how it was in LIVE and my bet would be some GW IP expert had a say. This as I've had my fair share of rules discussion regarding the nature of magic as a role player

All of these sounds like either bugs or someone deserving to die.
If I can't single target heal someone in a particular situation, why should I be able to group heal them?

are group heals exempt from LOS restrictions anyway? Aren't they good enough?
There was a lot of test in alpha on healer los it was a disaster for taking of forts structures rvr too many walls "siege keep defence"

cos the more the game progress the more you will need aoe heal, so they are basically need up much 99% of time.
It's a gameplay choice, that i like.
why you should? cos st heal > aoe heal if you need to heal 1 ppl under focus so give to aoe heal the out of los was the correct decision.
You have a base low ammount with you can heal always even if ppl overextend but if they get focussed they better run to healers cos group heals out of los won't take you up.
just why we are talk about this anyway? war problem are related to classes creep not to inner meccanic like group heals out of los.
things like aoe los heals, guard, auto facing, pvp taunts are war brands :/
no one should blame one of those, the combat system x se is very enjoyable and is what keep up the game alive even with all the bugs and the power creep (for me at least).
