Exactly. I completely agree. Guard is one of the least active things I use, and its only under extreme moments when guard swapping is needed (in premade groups) in which there is a chance it bugs (because its a clunky ability) which (for me) only leads to frustration. I have guard bound to M5 and my Party (vai Enemy) is almost in the MIDDLE of my screen so I merely need to click an ally, press M5 2x and am guarding him. But I am doing that maybe 1/10th of the time I am doing everything else as you mentioned Dak.

So this is why I fail to understand why changing this mechanic (that is not an active thing) to be more in the "rotation of active things" is such a hard thing for people to see.

I really hate guard.
In all honesty, if I was a healer, I wouldn't throw a single HoT on a non guarding tank.
NO , guard is not an ability that work "PERFECTLY FINE" as lots of other thing in this game , thus why it failed "HARDCORELY" and history is repeating itself slowly , people just forget... The server maximum was increased to 1400 , wich means DEVs "ACKNOWLEDGE" the fact that more people are coming to the game and they(devs) accept it , other wise they wouldnt have increase the pop. limit and kept this game(PROJECT) for them and their friends... SO , IF ALL CASUAL/PUG PLAYERS GO AWAY , THIS GAME WILL CLOSE . Sometimes i wonder if some of you "THINK" before "TYPING" ... oh , and i have a homework for you , TELL ME HOW A WITCH HUNTER OR WITCH ELF CAN BENEFICIATE FROM GUARD ? (REMEMEBER TO THINK BEFORE ANSWERING)

I want play tank if guard give me something insteed incoming damages.

Personally I think guard insteed absorbing damages should give our target bonus to block, or parry/disprupt/evade. This gonna cheange game a lot. The most because dps will stop to be spec only in attack and must start care about his own defeance. And this make game more balanced because there will be no more dps dealing creazy damages and are not Impossible to kill.

They Inc The server Pop ratio bracuse there was a time where t4 was relased before the big ddos came we Hit the server max from 1000.

The problem here is If youre guarded target got more parry Block... What ever it to simple to Make a class with nearly 100% mitgation on something

Guard works fine.
RVR works fine.
Everything works fine... There is no problem...

In fact... Can we just have how it was on Live? Live was perfect. Me and my buddies loved live.

yes, guard has the only active part on a tank in making a decision and being reliable. the rest is all automatism and keeping your cooldowns up.

what else has active decision making?

not debuffing my target?
not challenging the enemies?
not using punt to intercept ppl on there movement or seperating them?

only thing which comes close is interrupt via taunt in decision making and punt to some degree which is most of the time unreliable (lag, immunities, parry).

you compare now active to not playing and not active to passive abilities.

and the best thing is, you count debuffs as pro active abilites. punt would be a proactive abilty if it was undefendable.

In theory. Let's say my target get 50% my cheance to block or disrupt...In practice smart enemies may almost ignoring your 30% disrupt. To have an efect you must have, let's say 60% or 50% but to this need new guard and your own defeance.

And let's say tank defensive stats are also upgrade by 50% of defensive stats guy who he guard.
