@footpatroll: I have just tried to read over the 20pages and your wall of text. And I would find it highly better if you put a thesis first and then explain it further.
Also I find your energy for your personal crusade highly motivating. As others have said I dont think that racial wbs were mythics main idea or they can beat any mixed warband.
But as a dwarf guild leader I'm highly interested in your proposed dwarf bomb idea.
Can you please summ up the idea behind it without saying other players that they were blind the last ten years?
There is no insult meant. This is a serious request.

Re: (Mythic) origins of balance
Look guys. I want to have a positive conversation on these talking points I'm bringing up.
I am deeply sorry that I got negative. I am also sorry that I decided to use the forums to brainstorm my idea's I just started getting excited. I will leave up those negative comments I put up prior as shame to myself. I should of just kept it positive like I was. I know it does nothing but roll eye's and makes people stop listening. Thats not the purpose of these posts. I am weirdly deeply passionate about this game and I'm sure others are also. I didn't know prior to this post that I probably have a alpha type personality. l'm not easily frame controlled. I bet that the people that are attacking me also have a alpha type personality. No one likes to be told how to play. Lets keep things positive. Lets please explore these idea's I have and get some constructive criticism.
I'm going to make this post quick and I'll post some of my out of the box idea's in the following thread that I felt that mythic thought we would do. Please keep a open mind to what I'm saying. I have to warn you that it is going to be a massive wall of text. I'm sorry for this. Complex idea's require me to explain some things.
I will be kinda repeating myself but with more clearness.

did you even read this Footpartrol?Azarael wrote:ITT: The equivalent of the ranting homeless person standing outside of the safehouse in Bohan in GTA4 attempts to convince us that the meta doesn't exist and that the community has been missing the essence of the game for over seven years.
I hate to come in and burst your bubble but the best players succeed precisely because they have an eye for every possibility and select the most effective strategies for a given situation. They have no motive WHATSOEVER to discard ANY viable strategy.
If you want to know why the best people aren't playing in a certain way? It's pretty simple. The effort/reward ratio is not optimal. That's the long and short of it.

Re: (Mythic) origins of balance
I can only speak for myself.
I think we were having a nice little discussion at first (i was in fact having fun) until you started with the walls of text. Maybe i will seem disrespectful for saying this, but there is no way in hell i am reading through all of that (i still haven't, and honestly i won't).
If you could keep your posts (way) shorter, it would help a lot. Maybe we could then get back to discussing about whatever it was we were discussing in the first place and people will stop flaming you.
Also, when several people say you are wrong, there is no harm in replying with "let's agree to disagree". It should be clear by now you won't be convincing many people here (at least, not while you continue to use those walls of text).

I actually read most of it - I pretend it was for the giggles - and it was like a broken record, an endless monologue as if he is selling the next big thing.

Re: (Mythic) origins of balance
I was about to deliver a massive wall of text but then I saw posts saying I shouldn't. How do you want me to deliver this information.
Here is the thesis I was coming up with.
This is a opinion.
In this post, I’m going to go into a reason why I think we didn’t understand what mythic was giving us. I will follow this with how I feel that mythic thought there playerbase would approach their game. I’ll provide an example of a Dwarven warband that is good at holding positions and keeps defense, I can’t provide a counter example only because it would be to long but that could be a different post. I can explain all their abilities on why they are best at this but that would be a book so I can’t, but if you ask me individually I’ll try and explain. Lastly I will conclude what I feel we can do moving forward.
I am horribly sorry that I started dumping walls of text on you guys. I started to realize that you may not be reading it. If we were talking it would be easier. A lot of communication is lost in forum posts.

Re: (Mythic) origins of balance
Simple logic and mathematics tells me that you are wrong. Why? Because limiting yourself to just one race's classes (4 out of the 12), would be just that: A limitation.
You cannot EVER convince me that having a choice between 4 classes, instead of the 12 available on each faction, when making a WB, is in fact better. This simply does not follow. Granted, I know about the paradox of choice, but we are no where near the numbers needed for that, to be a consideration.
Now, there might very well be viable racial WBs. I'm not denying that. But why would you ever limit yourself in this way? It simply makes no sense. The ONLY exception to this would either be a roleplaying guild (dwarves / greenskins etc), or if someone got so tired of winning with ease, that they would give themselves a handicap. I don't think the 2nd one is very likely to ever happen because of the problem with the random number of playerss in ORvR.
On top of all this, what you are advocating is "your opinion". You are entitled to that, and share it, but you've gone on a personal crusade to try to prove a point that hardly anyone shares with you. I think it's time that you accept this fact and actually move on.
