Re: Ironbreaker build
Block is opposed by whatever stat is being used to attack with.

Re: Ironbreaker build
Ok. Here is my logic: So enemy has... for example 500str vs ours 20% block. Let's say 500str reduces block chance by 10%. So it would be 10% block less... But we have 400 toughness which negates 400 of enemy str and now he hits us with the str of just 100, reducing the block only by 1%.Azarael wrote:Block is opposed by whatever stat is being used to attack with.
Where am I wrong?

Re: Ironbreaker build
You're wrong because Toughness doesn't negate the offensive stat in defense calculations, only in damage calculations. This is intuitive.

Ah... I got it, thank you.Azarael wrote:You're wrong because Toughness doesn't negate the offensive stat in defense calculations, only in damage calculations. This is intuitive.
Does that mean there is no way to reduce the reduction of your block by enemy stats?
Anyway toughness is the main stat for tank even I was wrong about block

Re: Ironbreaker build
There is no way to reduce the reduction of block. Also % increase to block > Block rating for keeping a good block chance
Toughness is important but as mentioned earlier it really depends on what you want to do, if you dont have the itemization to do any kind of damage, just become as unkillable as you can, I find alot of order will attack a turtled-tard speced tank if he is a lowbee over a 31 squishy...and it is sad how much time they waste beating on said tank.
