With a bit of lag, it's obvious :p
Keep on guys, you made the miracle to let this game survive and saved it from the internet's graveyard... so with lag or not, warhammer is alive <3

Atm in t2 at evening lag is crazy,imagine t3 with one zone.

If the keep zerg is the casue of lag, maybe opening all keeps in all zones for take would help with this? No, yes? This was the point of the post, not stating the obvious. Good that almost nobody understood... o.O

no. devs need to learn the cause of the lag and be able to fix it. this alpha is about testing things, temporary workaround especially when changen the whole metagame wont do any good.

When there was a massive zerg the live game also lagged to hell, sometime to the point it became unplayable, or the server crashed. Ie. the time when they introduced Forts, about 500+ players fighting for one fort killed the server. The live dev team implemented a player number cap for zones to avoid this later.
So go on bubbling, this game was never capable of handling massive fights on an epic scale

Server profiling a week ago revealed that when it comes to CPU load on the thread handling a zerged region, our packet sending and text logging functions were responsible for most of the work done.
As I'm sure many of you are aware, the reason zergs are so, so very bad for a server is because the amount of time required to dispatch packets to x people is proportional to the square of x - because each player needs to dispatch a packet to every other player in range.
Breaking up zerg PvP, through both zones and RvR implementation, is just as important as anything else.

though from my experience yesterday the lag was not so bad at all? did you change anything?

We allocated more memory to the virtual machine running the RoR server.
