kpihuss wrote: Fri Jan 16, 2026 2:24 pm Hi,

After reading the latest patch notes, I’d like to ask for some clarification regarding purple cultivating seeds, as the wording is not entirely clear and this has a big impact on crafting and dungeon farming.

-Are new purple seeds meant to coexist with the current Eternal ones? From the patch notes, it sounds like purple seeds may become available in more dungeons. Does this mean:

-There will be new purple seeds that are finite, while old ones remain Eternal? Or are the new seeds intended to replace the old system entirely?

-All the classisc eternal seeds drops will be replaced on all dungeons with this new one seeds?

-The new limited seeds are tradeable?

Thanks in advance for the clarification, and for the continued work on the game.
Good questions, I can answer them here:

- Yes, the old permanent seeds from Gunbad are being left as-is and will continue to drop in the same Dungeons as before.

- We'll use the new charged purple seeds as we expand the available roster of purple seed drops, which are starting with Bastion Stair and might appear in the future in other places, too.

- These seeds will always grow into a Bunched item that appears in your normal inventory. When you open it in your normal inventory, 2 of the crafting materials will appear in your crafting bag. (No critical grows.)

- These seeds are bound to player, like the permanent versions.

Hope this helps!

Edit: Just built a new wiki page for Exceptional Seeds as well to help keep things documented for players.
Thank you very much for reply! :)

Currently if I drop down as a level 40 to help someone make mayhem or ruin farm i can at least get war tokens as a reward. now it seems there is little to no reason outside of being nice to help anyone run lower level pqs.

Players can no longer receive PQ rewards from outside their level range.
I would also like an explanation on this. Rewarding experienced/geared players for helping lowbies is a pretty basic game-design precept.

Interesting. Maybe it's only in party?

Why?
Yea It doesn't affect that much, sure, but like... I don't get why you'd make this change in the 1st place at all. Also what is the "level range", seems very vague, surely you don't mean the the 2 level range(ie: 26-27) shown on the PQ on the map UI right?
It must mean minimum level, since I got a green bag from the Grave Diggers PQ while doing the event quest line. They probably don't want lvl 25's going and doing T4 PQs or something like that.
Oh I see and yea I did get a bag from T1 PQ on lvl40 char. Idk why the wording is "level range" then and not just minimum level then, a bit confusing.

Thank you for the patch as always.
Lots of QoL changes this time around.
Very much disappointed with the PQ participation lvl restriction becoming a thing again, but I don't want to dwell much on it.
What I'd like to focus on is this:

ReturnOfReckoning wrote: Fri Jan 16, 2026 2:02 pm New Charge-based Purple Seeds

New charge-based Purple Seeds are being added to the game, with the first arriving in Bastion Stair. These purple seeds can be grown 250 times before being consumed, generating enough materials for ~1,000 liniments per seed. Because of their limited nature, the drop rate for these purple seeds is higher than the permanent Gunbad variants.

Could you please explain the reasoning behind making the new purple seeds consumable (essentially not eternal)?
Does it have to do with the hero+ mob density distribution within the dungeon? If that were they case, however, the drop rate could always be adjusted to account for it. What was the reasoning behind this deliberate choice?

Considering how most updates/changes from the PvE team lately come with an explanation for why changes are the way they are, I'd be interested to hear about this specific addition. Thank you in advance.

So geared char to have a reason to redo the dungeon to keep his seed availability in check. Imo it make sense otherwise gaining the purple seed will mean that you wont put your foot at the dungeon any more

I feel like there's the opposite effect too at play here. I am personally not going to intentionally do BS with the prospect of seeds that will expire anyway, and I feel like a lot more people might think the same way too. 1000 linis from 1 seed is just 25 stacks of linis (should be around 1200 gold for high end linis).

Especially since the drop rates are not public, this makes the prospect of farming them even less desirable. It is stated that
Because Exceptional Seeds eventually expire, their drop rate is higher than the Purple Seeds from Mount Gunbad.
but in a vacuum that means nothing (because we also don't know the GB seed droprate)
