My view is not limited. It's that you should be free to express it regardless.
Spoiler:
If someone doesn't want to see it, then they should block you. They decide what they see, not someone else for them. You block the offender yourself if you have a problem with what they say. This is not a difficult concept to understand. There is already a filter in place that the above suggested words could have been added too and had the same effect, if someone turned off said filter of their own accord, then they are choosing to see things with which they may not agree or find offensive. You turn the original filter on and your problem goes away or choose to leave it off. This is a matter of personal choice vs unnecessary over reaction. If you're THAT sensitive, maybe a game and story that involves the literal drinking of blood by minions of chaos, ripping bodies limb from limb, boiling their skulls and putting them on pikes, etc isn't something you should be playing. If you can participate in all that but you're offended by a few words you can ignore, the problem might be the way you see the things you dislike and your inability to cope with thoughts that aren't echoed by your own.
See it this way, the filter prevents you from being banned. ;)
You have a point if we had realistic graphics and gore but this game isn't aiming at an adult audience.

Read your quest log and npc comments. If you think that's true, you aren't paying attention to half the game and missing out on some big tidbits. IC literally has a quest where you kill a prisoner, boil the flesh off their skull, and mount it on a pike next to the npc giving the quest and you can do it at a low level. Don't believe me? hit about level 15 and head to the narrow land strip north of the pyramid where you do your skills, the chosen is standing next to a pot.

1. "Freedom of Expression" is not something inherent in all countries. This game isn't even hosted in the U.S.
2. "Freedom of Expression" means the -**government**- cannot restrict or legally sanction you for saying something they don't like. RoR is not the government. Private entities can do what they want. Its why people get fired from their jobs for saying stupid racist/homophobic/crass stuff on social media all the time. Their employer can fire you for that if the laws allow it.

Stop confusing private entities and the government like we're living in 1984 world. There is no secret elites controlling your every thought and action here with severe repercussions.

Do you have some graphics mod to make it actually look like violence? What you describe doesn't warrant a higher age rating, because you see nothing and at worst some cartoon violence.

Games Workshop would ban you for talking about these subjects too if they had an MMO they ran still.

This isn't something that's farfetched or new to the industry. Back in EQ1, they used to change non-fantasy names. Using profanity in chat of any kind ie; crap, s**t, etc would get you banned or suspended.

I got suspended for 24 hours on EQ2 for using the name of the Unix disk checking tool after someone said I was 'censor bypassing' (it's fsck) and I argued it in chat.
I've seen people get suspended for pasting SONG LYRICS into general chats.

This isn't something new to the genre. The only thing that is new to this game with regards to this type of content is your acceptance of it as normality.

Either conform, or get banned. It's that simple.

Yes.

What is so hard to understand about this?

I mean seriously, as a simple inquisitive psychological tangent it would be interesting to read your response to that question.

It's in the general discussion, no reason to lock it yet. People could discuss anything nowadays as long as it aligns with our ToS, that's the purpose of the forum... To discuss things, whether it made logic or not, and whether it'll impact the topic or not.
