Return of Reckoning

Is this working at the moment with the 5 stacks high magic nerf incoming?

Will need to test on live, only done one night after long break, but in theory I'd say it took a substantial hit.

Let's break it down, previously a typical run would have a damage and heal distribution like this:

1M Damage
400k 40% Dissipating Energies (DE) -> 500k 34% if used with 5 stack half the time.

250k 25% Storm of Cronos (SoC) -> 700k 48%, two more casts but 7.5% lower damage

250k 25% Energy of Vaul (EoV) -> 167k 11% about 33% less damage (lower base+less scale), unless the 5 max hit cap is increased?

100k 10% others -> 100k 7%

That's a new total of about 1.47M (not bad), but mechanic I'd recon will go from an average of 33% to 7.5% boost per cast, so about 25% loss takes it down to 1.1M (+10%)


1M Healing
500k 50% EoV -> 450k 61% between lower base heal and damage we lose about 10%. (Standard heal AM will probably lose around 40%, so maybe we'll lose less as we fill the gap)

350k 35% Lambent Aura (LA) -> 157k 22%, less base and 1 less target on avg.

150k 15% others -> 127k 17%, seems to be 15% less healing for core heal abilities

For a new total 735k then add in 25% mechanic loss further down to 550k.
This is made worse when you consider that 1:1 dmg:heal is best case, most often you'll see 1:1.5 or even up to 1:4.
So before if you did 1M and 1.5M heal, you'd now see 1.1M dmg and 825k heal.

Now that's just theory-crafting, based on doing more or less the same as before.



In practice, we'll probably want to switch into "lifetap" builds, using more Transfer Force (though nerfed as well), shield, AP drain and debuffs to build Force up to 5x for DE and boosting EoV / SoC on the way.

You are actually forced into this, this the only healing tranq builder is the heavily nerfed Lambent Aura and TF but that has long CD and not exactly reliable.
The other issue is the missing 40% AP discount, spamming EoV 50 AP + Isha's Blessing 65 AP now cost 110 instead of 69 and is 40% slower (while healing less).

The buffs to Arching Power (+synergy with buffs to SoC and DE), would take it from it's normal 5-8% heal to maybe around 15%.

Which will boost utility and damage, but at the cost of more heal.

The hybrid style as per this guide will NOT be as good (also nerfed last year on WW and EoV/BE -> no move + worse range lasso), this style where you weave in every single spell (50% heal/50% lifesteal). That being said, the build was very strong before in casual play, now it's still fine.

Instead I think, we'll have to be an offensive focused lifestealer (20% heal/80% lifesteal), much less capable on group but still decent on single target with better AOE and Arcing Power.

So what do you guys run now as a build after the changes - something like this:

Does it change the gear we want to pick up in any way?

I'm not sure about the tactics: Divine fury, discipline and empowered lores - would you guys use them? I'm just leveling my AM and am approaching 40.

Balance essence seems to heal quite a lot with the tactic and the 33% lifesteal on all dmg on your defensive target seems quite strong aswell.

dps am/sham doing ~ 30-45% less dmg after last patch

What about the healing build - did it also get weaker?

Did people even figure out the optimal build yet on dps AM?

Dunno what ppl are doimg wrong, my dps substantially increased with the new rotations.

I still run the first build linked in OP, but that's 7p warlord, now taking Arcing Power and considering Radiant Burst.

Would run this at 40:

As for gear, previously you could mix in heal crit gear, tactics and renown but don't see a point to that anymore, now that base heal on lifetaps are changed.
Max atk crit + int, though you need at least bloodlord gear mix to get enough dmg, until then you are better off with the Expanded Control I recon.
Empowered Lore on paper looks perfect for hybrid, but uptime is bad.

Yeah, AoE damage should be up.

Pre-stacked Single Target dps on dummy seens to be a bit down (about 10% but maybe I haven't found the right rotation).

What would you combine bloodlord with when I hit 40 and do some PvE for gear -( before I got the RR for warlord)?

Radiant burst and cleansing fire both seem rather underwhelming in duo/trio RvR but radiant burst might be strong in SCs I imagine. For smallscale RvR mistress of the marsh should be still good or?

Whats your typical rotation: like press drain force and SoC on CD apply TF and other dots/LA and do every 2nd EoV as instant cast if possible?
How important are rain lord and law of age?

I guess I missed the part where you said the build had to be for duo/trio, the build I gave is for warband ORvR.

The build you linked is fine for small scale, would just switch out Discipline for pretty much any other tactic, there's only 2 worse options so even random pick should be better lol.

For gear, buy gloves/boots oppressor with gold, and maybe belt since you'd want more HP.
2-3p genesis scholar, 2p lotd magic power cloak/ring (or 3p beastlord), bloodlord staff and rest as bloodlord gear.

Not sure if the new PvE set coming in Summer will be good or int based, but depending on how fast you get crests would probably wait buying full sets until then (especially the Victorius ring).

Abilities depend much on the situation and your setup. Small scale is also a lot more reactive, so not sure you can really talk about rotations.

AP drain, Lambent Aura and TF is however a good start. After that, if nothing to heal or cleanse, go for DoTs and last LoG/RL debuff.
LoG and RL are fine to use but low on the priority chain, usually just serve as AoE debuff cleanse cover. The stat debuff won't stack with other abilities so might be useless.

Now that BE also has base heal, EOV is less important for small scale and will usually be the better choice (range, AP and speed).

Are you the dedicated healer going hybrid? Then SoC is dangerous to use as enemy might grab you, and wipe your party.

Having less survivability while being closer range for relatively low hybrid damage (especially pre-BIS) means most small scale teams greatly prefers pure heal (more safe, more heal).
I've not tried the new mechanic+lifesteal for small scale, but doubt it's better than before when it was already hard, but you do you, will be happy to be proven wrong

You didn't miss anything - I play SCs and also want to do some RvR with some friends - and that would be either duo or trio. It would be either SW/AM or SW/SW/AM or SW/AM/AM . To me with full int funnel essence doesnt seem to heal a lot or am I missing something?

I somehow seem to lack a non conditional burst heal - the nearest thing is BE. In Scs healing is okay as you basically can do radiant gaze, depending on how many charges you got, TF, LA, insta EoV or SoC. And with so many dots running also your 33% of dmg to healing does A TON of healing.
