Problem at launcher

Sorry to revive and old topic. I had the same problem as Gabonza, Drusus etc. Somehow, like Dragonhammer, the issue got fixed even though the error message persisted. So I was able to play until the last long DdoS attack.

Now the server is back. I'm happy for all.

My problem is back. I could play before, I can't now. Obviously the new configuration is giving me trouble, as I havent changed anything in my pc and I could play before.

I was wondering if any of you guys who had the same issue found a solution that I can try. (I've tried all the solutions in this thread. The uncheck read only thing is quite irritating as it doesnt seem to apply no matter how I do it).

So it's a connection issue? Have you tried using a VPN to see if it lets you on?

I'm afraid I'm very ignorant in these computer and internet matters. Is Hotspot Shield a VPN? I have downloaded it and when I have it connected the game doesnt even launch any more when I press connect. I have tried to change the configuration of Hotspot Shield but the few options (general, networks) available don't seem to include any commands to unblock connections ro anything like that. (I have the free trial version 5.4.6)

Can you recommend any VPN free software that could work? or am I failing to set up Hotspot Shield?

Yes, hotspot shield is a form of VPN. I hear other members of RoR have said good things about cyberghost vpn.

When I installed the launcher and finished all the steps it said error starting, is it because I did not download the right version? If so how do I do that when I click on the version it does nothing.

On W10 I have noticed the permissions keep reapplying Read only. By converting permissions to explicit rather than inherited (I have War in program (x86) folder full control can be given to all, working now for me on login as I didn't see servers getting connected to.
