This game is probably 1 of the most newbie friendly games there will ever be. You can literally just play from lvl1 and without having to doing anything hard until maxlvl. Making gold isnt that hard either but yeah it does required a slight effort on your behalf.

But you statement is just way off
I know this is quite old but I had to reply, you have got to be joking! Warhammer has a ridiculous learning curve, detaunt as a skill alone is about equal to master as an entire game...not to mention the plethora of gear options, classes, speccs, skills (some classes get like 15 similar skills with no clear rotation). There is very little learning time since past t1 you're in the sort of endgame, plus you're kinda left on your own. Yeh, lots of people created guides, but going through all the guides from gear to scenarios to classes to archetypes takes hours upon hours. How is that newbie friendly? How many games require you to do that? And don't tell me it's ok, I know it's ok, it's just not newbie friendly. This game also basically requires solid amounts of free time, as keep pushes/forts/cities only happen at very specific times and if your free time doesn't coincide with the ones you need you miss out on most of the content. Log into the game at any given time and monitor advice chat, there's a constant stream of basic game mechanic questions being asked, which proves my point. Yeh, you can pick the game up and jump into the action immediately - that's one of its biggest selling points, but actually mastering the action and learning all there is to know is unbelievably dense.

it is true that learning curve is steep. i'm still learning dps AM like noob after all these playing times.
however leveling and learning are two different thing.
this thread was talking about how fast u can reach 40 CR and gain RR ranks. renown gain has nothing to do with learning.
see how many 80s fail at their role. it means they reached 80 b4 learning their class.
indeed newbie friendly to level up. hard to learn as you said.

to monitor the RvR status i suggest you to watch the streamer every now and then, it takes less time then logging every time. Also if you play with a group/organized-wb your gear will matter much less then your coordination. just try to coordinate and eveything will be fine.
One last thing: to get info on how to play a class dont look on forum, it takes too much time. Try to wisp (in game or on forum) a well known good player and ask him what to do
